Did you go to school at A&M? UT boosters are loaded and can afford any recruit they want (whether you want to believe or not). I went to A&M (but graduated from UT) and the Longhorns have the money and the power in TX.

I did not go to A&M, but I worked and traveled in Texas for several years. While I agree that Texas is the university of choice among the politicians, I’ll disagree on your money statement. Aggies are connected heavily in the oil exploration, banking, petrochemical & agricultural business throughout the world. Their list of billionaires is quite lengthy

Other schools have more open pockets. That's the difference. It's not about how deep they are, but how willing they are to part with some of that money.
I do not believe A&M has more open pockets than we do. I have many friends that graduated from there and have done well and in the know. Monty Davis is the big name and I believe he donated about 10 million for the Davis Center and new softball facility. He also donates millions for academic scholarships and the business school etc. But I highly doubt it's anymore than the Haslams donate to UT. In fact I would say it is less. A&M was nothing more than a lil sister to the Longhorns. One reason they left the Big 12. U of TX has the deep pockets in that state, not A&M.

Who gives a sh1t... Go Vols that is all. Them winning or losing isnt going to effect us. Beat their asses when it matters. A&M will never win anything. Big Brother and Oklahoma will be here soon to make sure. Harsin sucks.... why they havent went ro a silent count is dumb af.

No. My understanding is he gives some toward academics, but not athletics.
He has given some to athletics too, but it's a relatively modest amount, considering his net worth. To give an idea, I've heard that the hasbeen actor, David Keith (played the guy who hung himself in An Officer and a Gentleman), has actually given more to athletics than Ergen.

Meh, forgot about that dude. Good point though, the other guy who brags about his involvement in the university usually gets ignored and glossed over. So that’s pretty telling, imo.
He’s role playing seems pretty obvious. Why, who knows man? LA vol seems legit but that’s probably the extent of it.

From 2018. Appears them pockets been getting deeper.

And indeed, from 2014 through the 2016-17 season, the Texas A&M athletic department earned $260 million in contributions, nearly double what any other school made in that time. For reference, in those years, Texas had total athletic contributions of $123 million; Florida, which ranks second in the category, totaled contributions of $138 million. Texas A&M, meanwhile, allocated $119 million of its total contributions just to the football team.

ATL Vol not being on this board anymore is proof IMO that #1 Danny White has closed all holes and he is respecting the wishes of them and #2 that we have the right staff in place. #3 that some of y’all are a holes 😂

Believe what you want. I'm only repeating about things I've read or heard. Also, it's one thing to give to the schools, and another to fund NIL deals. Apparently our boosters aren't doling out NIL deals. How many players have sponsorships from Pilot?

Has been? Nice.

Edit: I bet he has enough money that someone calling him a “Has Been” probably makes him laugh.

"Hasbeen actor" is not a nice way to refer to a UT alumnus....

They have lots of rich guys, but Tennessee counts like 3 billionaires among their alumnus, I believe. Saw it in a Forbes article. That's not too shabby. But like I said, part of the problem is getting the guys that have the money to give the money. Other schools are having an easier time with that.
I know TN has at least 4 billionaires today and possibly 5. A&M's biggest donor is George Mitchell, but his donations go to the physics department. He recently donated 20 million but Haslam recently donated 40 million to his business school.

Are you referring to the state of Tennessee has 4 billionaires, or UT has 4 billionaire alumni? And again, giving to the school does not equate to NIL deals for the athletes.

We knew this was coming. See how good they feel after losing today and we beat Kentucky. Let’s be honest, would you rather him commit to us today and we lose or the opposite? Take care of things on the field and things will be fine. Still like what I’m seeing. Also, Nolan’s dad is a smart man.
They are winning
