The portal is going to cause more trouble than good.
1) Theres usually a reason a kid isnt starting somewhere else
2) Its going to make a roster upperclassman heavy, and with a smaller recruiting class its going to cause depth issues the next few years after.
3) The portal is good to fill a few holes on the roster, not build an entire two deep with.
How to say you know nothing about the transfer portal, without saying you know nothing about the transfer portal.

11th in the SEC in rankings is not good but can any of us be surprised by it? Pruitt left Heupel a turd sandwich to work with and other coaches are using that against us. And btw Florida and Auburn are not doing great at all in this recruiting class. We will hit the portal hard in the off-season

From 2018. Appears them pockets been getting deeper.

And indeed, from 2014 through the 2016-17 season, the Texas A&M athletic department earned $260 million in contributions, nearly double what any other school made in that time. For reference, in those years, Texas had total athletic contributions of $123 million; Florida, which ranks second in the category, totaled contributions of $138 million. Texas A&M, meanwhile, allocated $119 million of its total contributions just to the football team.

College Football's Most Valuable Teams: Texas A&M Jumps To No. 1
This is true as they raised money for the Kyle Field upgrade during this time. The renovation cost about $450 million. A&M, I believe has the highest revenue in college football. And I believe the TX Longhorns are 2nd. They both make over 100 million yearly in ticket sales and licensing. I'm sure they will continue to raise money to pay off the upgrade. Also isnt Jimbo Fisher getting about $75 million? My point was simply that UT had deep pockets. We know of 4 multibillionaires from UT. 9876543vol said A&M had dozens. I think it's actually two lol.

Are you referring to the state of Tennessee has 4 billionaires, or UT has 4 billionaire alumni? And again, giving to the school does not equate to NIL deals for the athletes.
4 of the alumni though Ive heard Jim Clayton may have reached billionaire status which would make 5. To my knowledge he donates heavily but I dont think it is to athletics.

Believe what you want. I'm only repeating about things I've read or heard. Also, it's one thing to give to the schools, and another to fund NIL deals. Apparently our boosters aren't doling out NIL deals. How many players have sponsorships from Pilot?
Which A&M players have lucrative NIL deals given by their boosters? I didnt imply anyone from UT was funding NIL deals did I? All Ive seen is the food NIL. The same with Texas A&M.

He’s role playing seems pretty obvious. Why, who knows man? LA vol seems legit but that’s probably the extent of it.
ATL Vol not being on this board anymore is proof IMO that #1 Danny White has closed all holes and he is respecting the wishes of them and #2 that we have the right staff in place. #3 that some of y’all are a holes 😂
Is it really proof? Asking for a friend who’s no longer able to post…

This is why I've stopped following recruiting. I had followed recruiting since it started in Sports Illustrated paperback magazine.

Elmer Fudd always find a way to get players. I'm wondering what the draw is. A&M doesn't own any championship hardware.

All we can do at this point is hope to build a program the way Frank Beamer did between the 90's and 2000's, and hope the big names eventually come especially in state. I think Cornbread really set the programs reputation back.

They're promising recruits lucrative NILs is what I've heard.

I did not go to A&M, but I worked and traveled in Texas for several years. While I agree that Texas is the university of choice among the politicians, I’ll disagree on your money statement. Aggies are connected heavily in the oil exploration, banking, petrochemical & agricultural business throughout the world. Their list of billionaires is quite lengthy
Are you sure about that? I'm showing two billionaires from A&M (that could be wrong I guess) and I'm showing 4 from UT.

That may be so. I havent heard this and like I said I have many friends in the know at A&M. It wouldnt surprise me though. I do believe most lucrative NILs will come outside boosters though. Nike, Adidas, etc. I guess we will all know in time. I did contact one of my friends who graduated from A&M and who has done very well. Donates lots of money there. He says Mitchell is the biggest booster at about 100 million but it all went to physics. He said Davis had given about 20 million to athletic dept and is probably the top athletic booster.

First problem is fans like you. No one is telling you it is steak and not crap. Investigation and Pruitt and all the stupid decisions thru the year but for the first time in awhile, I am proud and having fun watching this team. I am going to enjoy the game tonight and not worry about this guys.

Maybe fans like you are the problem. Pitiful guys like you being satisfied with mediocrity. I personally am tired of cutting checks for keyboard hero’s like yourself to tell someone how they can feel about the game. I ain’t out on the team, I just hope they start recruiting better!

I’ve said it once, we should be monsters with NIL with our sources of income and our boosters. I don’t know what the hell we are doing but if we don’t catch up with the times we will never be on the levels of Bama, UGA, or what A&M is doing recruiting wise. We should be top tier with NIL

Easy there, everyone will jump on you because you want to recruit with the big boys and go better than 7-5.

I think this is hyperbole but there is a grain of truth here. For years we recruited well because we had a huge budget and spared no expense. NIL changed the landscape of recruiting and we must adjust accordingly.

This year was always going to be tough for us. I remember many saying this program should finish somewhere 15-20..... Thought they were crazy. I was thinking 30 to 35, still do.
Look man I’m talking bout 5 stars and these type of players the highest bidder is going to win.. period I’m jus not talking bout the run of the mill recruit. If Tennessee wants to overcome some of these battles they will have to figure out how to recruit with the big boys right now Tennessee is not winning these battles, hopefully they will come as CJH transforms this program.. that’s all I’m saying cause big money is going to control College football in the future.. minor leagues baby….

We aren't going to win those battles as long as the NCAA looms over us. It's just not going to happen.
