In this case, I tend to believe him in regards to Tennessee's paltry NIL offerings and lack of preparedness with respect to their contemporaries. I've heard that same story, or a version of it, from about 3 different angles, now.TLDR version - Supercuts still mad he can’t make money from UT off of a high schoolers.
I strongly believe it is a part of the reason why we fell off the map with several basketball recruits, this summer, who seemed very close to committing, or at worst, had Tennessee as the clear leader, only to hold off and eventually choose another school. Rick Barnes is too good of a recruiter to just completely strike out with that many prospects in the same class without some sort of extenuating circumstance. Now, maybe that extenuating circumstance wasn't NIL, but if not,, the timing of the drop-off in recruiting and NIL coming into rule is extremely coincidental.
