'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

Oooh...hold-up. Never did. Called my shot on "fired in year three" on the day he was hired. There are plenty more.

Not lying.

I'll go back to lurking now.
Well the fanbase is a huge sample size, sure there's a ton of you who thought so out there. But by volume and not by % though

Amazing that some on VN just are here to push buttons, stir sh!+ up, and act like they know everything.
Those posters hide behind a screen and bash other posters if their opinions differ from theirs. Some of us know a few people who are close to certain programs, and we will say what we hear, but in reality, nobody really knows squat!

BTW...I hope Nolen balls out and goes where his heart is.
Welcome to the Internet! Once you accept this you can ignore it and move on

Dude Cam Akers was trying to come to UT. FSU outbid UT bottom damn line. I was present and we knew ppl trying to help. In the end Jay Graham and their bag men got it done. His mom benefited greatly as she should have and he pulled up brand new and fresh 1st day on campus.

So you are present during money deals with players? Yet you say your brand just develops players and is neutral in pushing players to different schools? Sounds a bit shady to me if true.

If true, and we've all heard from him a million times how he just speaks the truth, it seems to me he just broke the biggest rule in recruiting and I can't imagine anyone at NPA or any other like "service" being happy about seeing that comment posted. As much as we all are sure that this type of thing goes on you rarely ever hear it mentioned by anyone involved. Unspoken, unwritten rule I would think. I have a hard time believing that comment was made for any reason other than a play for message board clout, so to speak.

How does that look to a current NPA player? If it were me all I would think is this dude can't be trusted.

De1 gets so much flak in here but he comes with more interesting info than 90% of posters lol Feels like people jump on him just cause he's not bootlicking UT

Not bootlicking? That is not the problem. He is constantly trashing them and praising Kentucky. We whipped that azz and still complete silence.

At some point or another we all thought Pruitt was a good coach, you'd be lying if you say otherwise.

I think it's good to have some controversial or different opinions in here, the echo chamber can be so boring.
That would be totally false. I tried to let all know what I knew about Coach Pruitt. Check back and you’ll see. Pruitt was trouble at Florida State and at Georgia. A leopard does not change his spots. We are now paying a VERY heavy price for not doing our due diligence.

He already previously admitted to making money off his NPA kids. It’s either in the D’Arco Perkins or Big Kat thread. That’s why he flew off the rails when Pruitt was fired. Guy was literally talking Pruitt up because he knew how to play the game.

Pruitt got fired because he didn't know how to play the game... haha

He’s just mad bc Pruitt was probably feeding them cash and butt hurt about it all. Wish UT would’ve gotten the Wade twins but we beat them with not even 70 active scholarship players during their “magical” season.

UT will always be multiple times better than the trash program in Lexington. The Wade twins can get a first hand view of that

I would prefer that places like NPA would help them be the best athlete they can be and stay out of the decision processes in college destinations. More training and less handling. Best case all training and no handling.

Have not read back thru this thread very far, so if duplicate info please forgive. You can watch this guy and some other talented teammates for free tonight on diamondclearmedia.com. Show comes on right now, game at 7 I believe. Make up your own mind. Mine says he has plenty of size and talent but not sure about ALL the intangibles. Has for sure improved over the season as he acclimated to new environment.

Edited to add you can also go back and look at all their games as well as other teams you find listed. Alcoa is listed for example, but their games have not been on and therefore you cannot see them.

How much are we talking? What’s it cost to get these guys?
Would love to hear De1's response. Can't speak to Akers, but regarding Newton there was an ESPN article circulating after the fact that accused Newton of claiming a $200k offer and seeking $180k from MSU. Months before it all became news, someone on the MSU side told me Newton received $140k. Who knows what the true number is. Regarding Brian Darden, we outbid MSU and secured his services for $160k and that was in the 90s.... Would be interested in knowing what it would have taken to get Akers and Nolen. The NIL stuff adds a whole new layer of complexity to this... OSU freshman QB Quinn Ewers received a $1.4M deal and is currently buried on the depth chart as their 3rd string QB. One of Bryce Young's deals is worth more than $800k...

I think De1's point is valid... we aren't going to land the top ranked players in the country as long as our guys are only receiving deals from local air conditioning services and off-brand apparel companies. When our guys start receiving deals in the neighborhood of $1M, I believe we can contend for elite prospects again. Until then, I'm not expecting to land guys like Walter Nolen or Arch Manning.

Actually Ewers is 4th string
