'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

You’re a fool if you think the statement you just made is true in reference to the ADs and decisions. Fans kept Schiano from being hired, fans got Mullen fired, fans got Orgeron fired, ADs pay attention to the dumb bs fans are uttering and make foolish decisions on hires/firings. Then get boosters on board and pay foolish buyouts. S don’t sound like such a fool tryna speak on me because you have no clue

So, after firing Ed O the AD yeilded to the resounding call for the ND coach from the fans I guess. I did not get the impression the fanbase was all in on his firing. He had crossed some lines that made fan's feelings moot. Glad to see character counting for coaches. The lack of interest in his old boss was refreshing too, even with talking heads trying to put him in play.

Been down there and heard ppl say that. They were praying that Harsin got the Washington job. He brought too much Boise to the plains. As average as Mason was Lea has no damn clue. Beamer at SCHOOL is a train wreck.
I think Harsin maybe a good coach, just a terrible fit though. Not sure who thought that was a good fit. Feel similar about Kelly at LSU, good coach terrible fit for the Deep South. Beamer actually I think has done decent down the stretch.

Was down there last year and this year, fans just didn’t think Ed O had it. The gave all the credit to Brady and Arranda, and very little to Ed O for hiring them and being the hands off CEO and HC. Fans were livid during a covid season in which everything was an experiment and nobody knew who was playing week to week. That rolled over into this year that wasn’t as bad. If a coach has fan support then the AD and boosters see that and keep it rolling. The man just won the NC and you fire him after all the adversity from covid with a ridiculous buyout.

Mullen lost like 8 of 10 P5 games or some stupid crazy stat (only beating UT and Candy in that stretch 😞) including getting embarrassed by that Beamer cat you just said was a train wreck.

Pretty sure that’s what got him fired.

I agree on Harsin not so much on Beamer but time will tell

What do you mean by bringing Boise to the plains?

also agree that Harsi/Kelly are awful fits

Dude, there were days Ed O wasn't showing up to the facility. Reports are that he had checked out a while ago. Been chasing pu**y instead of coaching. The fans didn't have anything to do with it.

Mr De1Conley, I feel like you bring good information to Volnation. But, good God, your delivery is among the worst I've seen. It's hard to like a guy who wants to make you feel like you know nothing. We've all been reading and learning on this site for a decade. We aren't stupid. Stop treating us like we are. Ignore the ones who are just out to get you. Post your insights, you have plenty of them. But resist the urge to be an adversary.

He tried that for a while, but people were just slamming him anyway.

I don’t know what’s will happen with Walter Nolan, doesn’t seem likely that we will flip him but anything is possible especially being so close to parents.

But just because he’s tweeting or recruiting for A&M, that doesn’t mean anything, in past we had big time recruits committed to us, recruiting for us and tweeting at fellow recruits… only for them to decomitt or flip elsewhere.. so as annoying as it is to see a TN kid committed out of state and recruiting for other school doesn’t necessarily mean it’s over.

But sadly I’m not optimistic that he flips

Mason is a great DC. No idea about a head coach. Almost impossible job at Vandy

@logginlarry says it better than I have in the past.

Are you saying that he was not involved in the activities with an LSU employee's wife that was circulated? A lot of smoke out there but if that has been factually refuted I would like to know. If it was not refuted, are you saying that it was not the PRIMARY reason for his dismissal at this time?

I can see where the internal reviews of the program by the AD showed Ed was not a complete coach, lacking in some CEO areas, and was likely on a downward curve without strength at the coordinator's spots, so they would not blind eye his actions and expedited his exit by a year or so by using this incident. They did not have to worry about backlash from the fanbase, but fan's uprising was not a required motivation either. Who was going to defend or justify his alleged conduct? Not a FOR CAUSE firing, but a BECAUSE dismissal. Fear of having to deal with THE if you can't trust a man around a fellow employee's wife, can you trust him to mentor your son narrative. Certainly not a factor with all parents, but how many? His own lack of fighting the issue was telling.

Too much of that Boise culture and staff. This is the SEC he should've left the majority of them behind. He mixed in BoBo with those guys and I heard from another assistant that it was a train wreck. Thus why he was the fall guy.

Yeah he kinda checked out and knew he was going to win with the buyout. Been a rough 2 yrs for Bey Bey.

Ad Ed O he can't help he had hired top notch and they were elevated to the NFL and a HC role. All Ed wanted to do was recruit and coach up the DL lmao. He'll resurface and will remain a Cajun legend.

It's a very impossible job unless you hv a prick who never sleeps and hires a solid staff like Franklin did. Mason was a great DC and just couldn't get a good enough OC and offensive talent. BUT what they have NOW is a gazillion times worse and I LOVE it. If I was Clark Lea I'd call Kelly and beg to be his DC lmao and run if he answers.
