If this is the post that's getting everyone's panties in a wad, some of ya'll need to take a break from UT fandom for a few weeks and come back refreshed and realistic. I see this more as a statement of a (difficult) fact. No vitriol either...not seeing it. Let's win and then see where that gets us.Let me explain to you, coming ro UT will not garner any better benefits than going to Bama or UGA. Actually going g to either of those 2 will get him more. Those 2 win on an elite level right now and playing there has a little more clout at the current moment. None of these kids are worry about taxes and all that like a normal citizen like I or you.
Fair enough, friend.By being on message boards doesn't form friendships. We just have something in common, and that's the fact that we like/love the same team. Also believing that a person on a message board is your friend is a false sense of reality. I come on here with perspective of truth from a person who loves UT but can also accept reality unlike a lot of other ppl. I also come speaking on recruiting in which is one of my businesses. All the animosity comes from ppl and the lies they feed themselves due to thinking a company that produces top tier talent in the state of Tennessee is against UT instead of realizing that many of these kids view UT much differently than they do. The #1 reason for that is a 10 yr window in which many who moved here from other parts of the United States have seen UT not have much success and chg coaches repeatedly since 2010.
Georgia isn’t winning the SEC or a national title anytime soon, and they haven’t had a DL picked in the 1st round since 2012. There’s no advantage for Nolen to go there over UT.. especially when the man that coached Derrick Brown, Montravius Adams and Marlon Davidson is at Tennessee. The advantage is here if anything. Bama I could kind of see.. but to say it makes more sense for a DL to go play for Tray Scott over Rodney Garner is laughable
More the pattern of statements and tone than a particular statement. If this is the post that's getting everyone's panties in a wad, some of ya'll need to take a break from UT fandom for a few weeks and come back refreshed and realistic. Dude shut up!!
You can't even come up with an original jab.
I disagree with DE1 all the time, but he's right about many of y'all being soft.
Geaux Vols is nothing like DE1. Plus he is known on the board, so your joke is just out of place and dumb.
It’s the passive aggressiveness from some of you that pisses me off whenever something is being said about Tennessee recruiting or the program in general, like we’re supposed to swoop down to your level because the program hasn’t been good the last 10 years. If we all did that, then we’re pretty much just wasting our time here. Why don’t we all create new accounts over on our rivals’ board so we can talk sh*t about Tennessee? How would that be any different than it is now?
I get it, we all get it. It’s been said over & over again. However, that doesn’t mean kids hate us nor never want to come play football here. We’re a very well respected program due to our history and the loyal fan base.
The so called “insiders” will change their narrative everytime something changes in recruiting because they don’t know for sure. They act like they know what’s going on so they can tell us how “right” they were along.
I’m tired of hearing some of the success stories and bragging about stupid post/like ratios from some of you. Y’all sound like a broken record that keeps spinning. It’s not the sunshine pumpers that’s the problem around here. It’s the “realists” or whatever the hell you want to call them, that wants to Tennessee to fail so bad just so they can be right.
It’s pure comedy.

it's not a bad idea, but there's a lot of "extra" in the ACC that the SEC may not necessarily want/need. i'm sure they'd covet some of the NE markets the ACC has, but i think it's proven not to be the end all/be all in terms of meaning anything to the college football landscape. and in basketball, it seemed like a no brainer to add those Big East teams to the ACC, but that hasn't panned out either.Jay bilas recommends ACC call SEC and consider a merger due to all of the built in natural rivalries in football and basketball. Makes sense to me and you could keep the SEC name while if you added someone like Ohio St/Michigan your not really the SEC anymore. At least you can talk yourself into OK/TX as southern teams
I don’t know what the percentages are for success getting to the NFL based on rating. But if I were a recruit from a family that’s not rich the NIL contract would favor more heavily into my decision. NIL can be guaranteed and many of the recruits claim they want to help family and/or make $$$. NFL is faaaar from guaranteed.I just assumed when de1 said that he would definitely make more money elsewhere and you immediately started defending his honor, you felt stronger about that.
Of course it's all speculation. I laid out exactly why I speculate he will make more here. The number 1 reason for optimism as a UT fan is the sheer amount of interest and money that still exists around the program. So when when the discussion is about money, I think it's silly to suggest UT can't compete with anyone.
Is NIL the most important factor? Maybe. Maybe not. But that was the topic of the post you quoted.
UGA won't win the SEC anytime soon? I'd imagine they have as good a chance as anyone not named Bama, especially if their new spread(ish) offense pays off. If Saban retires the next 5 years...they'll be the favorite, with OU. They were a play away in 2016 from winning it all...it's not that far fetched. But I'm not betting on Kirby going all the way, either. But they have some outside shot in the next 5-10 years. Too much talent not to.Georgia isn’t winning the SEC or a national title anytime soon, and they haven’t had a DL picked in the 1st round since 2012. Terrible. Just trying to ruin the national game asap. Greedy morons. Notice how baseball and basketball aren't pushing any of this. Quite content. Yet when it comes to CFB, that lowly $40mm team just ain't good enough. Nope, better pull in $80mm or you're just useless.Jay bilas recommends ACC call SEC and consider a merger due to all of the built in natural rivalries in football and basketball. If the SEC and ACC merge, it will be when all power 5 conferences merge to create the "new NCAA" which will be 80 teams. They'll probably re-create or re-imagine conferences at that point. If the SEC and ACC did merge, what would that do the scheduling for teams? I bet there would be no out of conference games.
