'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

Only thing I've read is that his family recently moved to the area for work. Certainly won't hurt out recruitment for him now that his family is close by to see him play.
What I take from this is, and this is purely throwing 💩 against the wall, but our boosters finally got their act together and momma, daddy, mentor or someone got a promotion or job opportunity in Knoxville, that was very enticing...
GBO!!

Anyone know why this kid chose Powell? Nothing against Powell but would think Maryville or Alcoa would be a more desirable transfer destination, in regards to winning a State Championship.
IDK but I bet Rodney Garner just became a member of the West Emory Baptist church.
GBO!!

Powell is doing some heavy duty recruiting and building that program.
The New OC had a huge part in building Fulton into the power that they became. I’m curious to see how high school kids respond to him. I think he’s gonna turn Powell’s offense into something special and Nolan certainly takes the D up a few notches.

Playing both sides for Powell will only help his growth.

This is his 3rd year as OC ... where you think the QB and WR's came from

I think the only thing we don’t have is the wins. Otherwise, we seem to have every advantage.

If we win this year, why else wouldn’t he stay? When I say win I mean 6+ and look good in losses.
your use of the term "advantages" is taken with the grade of slaw...lol.

but i know what you mean. we have all the amenities any prospect would want, all the history/tradition, track record for getting to the NFL...blah, blah, blah.

we also have a recent past that says "danger Will Robinson". so it's a lot to consider from a stability standpoint. there's not really any debate, it continues to be a relatively high risk proposition to go to TN vs. Bama, GA, Clemson, OSU etc....that's why i'm saying don't sweat it for another 2-3, maybe 4, years. if we go out and win, like you said, 5, 6 games this year, show some progresss next, at some point maybe win a game or 2 we're not supposed to, against an opponent(s) that matter, it'll come around. but it will just take a certain type of personality type that wants to be in the situation we're in, be part of bringing it back, part of that process and not just be plug and play in the dynasty down the street, in either direction.

but i'm really not overly concerned. if we get WN, awesome. huge coup for this stafff if they can pull that off. if we don't...well, ok, nothing really lost. the plan doesn't change. it's still 'let's see what we got in 3 years or so'.

Is there anything other than him going to Powell that has everyone optimistic? Him moving here doesn’t really lock down anything. Sure it’s not a bad thing but I’m hoping there’s more to the optimism.
Garner is his lead recruiter add to it some, I think.
