Not even close. We've had these monster threads before where "insiders" have things go sideways on them. One even put his membership here on the line. Of course, I'm sure he's back with another email and nick, but this is nothing unusual for VN. What I find humorous is the uproar over the kid. He's not going to make or break this class. Hell, none of our recruits will...and that includes any of the 5 star players. We've seen the beast/bust recruit as well as the 2 star that ends up in the NFL. It's a crap shoot. Until these HS legends in their own minds show up, strap on the pads and run with the big boys, you just don't know what you really have with a recruit. I've heard it said that if you hit on 50% of your class evaluations that's a decent/good year. Just enjoy the thread for some chits and giggles. Nothing to get worked up over. Have fun with it.

Well I am not so sure and if he slow played them then that tells me that they may not be that Good. Where does Russell Rank? His heart was there but was it? If so, he would be signed or committed maybe he slowed played us and others....
He choose not to show up? Offer extended. Had the power to commit but didn't. 17 and 18 year old kids...

Or first year coach didn't like the majority of the class in the state this year and let them go elsewhere. They didn't fit what he was looking for except maybe as a back up plan? Always two ways to look at things. Time will tell if you or this coaching staff is right. I do believe they know exactly what they're looking for in a player and are not going to take kids who don't fit that profile. Might ruffle some Tennesseans feathers, but I don't really care where the kid grew up. Give me the best players you can get regardless of where they call home. We look at recruiting in-state kids as building a "relationship/pipeline", but in todays world of college ball, a coaching staff cannot afford to take a kid just because he's at a TN high school and bleeds orange. He has to be what they feel is a winning sec talent. They know they have to win and win now or they're unemployed....especially at a school like UT.

I haven't been worked up over this thread since this shatshow started. Just laughing at OD's persistence even after the thread went south.

Can't slow play guys after going 5-7... Good news is, I don't see JP ever coming close to going 5-7 again.

You don't slow play someone who is way down your board. If he was a true priority it'd be different

I hope he continues to go after the best players available then move down the board. If the best players are from Tennessee, go after them hard. If players from Tennessee don't want to play at Tennessee, get the ones that do.

Also, I don't even have a brother. That whole s*** show was because of a guy by the name of Neyland Raper. I left my account up on his computer at his house and he called me saying someone was on my account as I was on my way home and he was posting the stuff he was reading off to me. Almost 10 years after the fact I still stand by the statement that none of that original f**kery was me. Everything from the Mitch Mustain mission stuff to saying "my kid brother" was on my account was all him. I got him back a few days later though. I figured out his Facebook password and posted a bunch of gay porn and other stuff and changed his password so he couldn't take it off for a few hours. So it all evened out haha

I think it's a little harsh to call him a fool. He's just overly optimistic and tbh, at least he keeps being positive in our dark period.
