'19 TN RB Eric Gray

Tim Jordan was 5’11” 187lbs as a senior per 247. Listed as 5’11” 196lbs on the UT bio.
University of Tennessee Athletics

Eric Gray is 5’10” 191lbs per 247.

By a sophomore he could be over 200lbs.

I don’t get the narrative that we only want 6’2” 230lbs backs.

And before you reply that Tim Jordan was a butch recruit, remember how hard we tried to land Greg Bell in Pruitt’s first cycle, and he’s only 200lbs himself. And he was 185 as a senior.

Jordan was part of the wall that butch built.

Runs a lot like Akers, the one we missed out on last season to FSU. I bet he wishes he'd came here instead of that cess pool now after getting whooped by Cuse.

We got the Thunder in Jordan and Banks. I'd like to add some Lightning to go along with Chandler. I think CJP feels the same way. A flip would be huuuuge.

Drae Bowles was a WR....who never did anything here ever.

"Drae's stats from last friday: touched the ball 5 times....95 yards rushing and a TD, 66 yards receiving and two TDs. Can somebody please tell me why his coach isn't putting the ball in his hands more? Ridiculous. "

"Rushed for 116 yards on 8 carries last night, with TD runs of 44, 21, and 2 yards. Also had one reception for 19 yards. JCS won 27-0. "

And? Sure, Drae played RB and WR in high school, and did well. But busted here. Not sure your point. Tons of kids do well in high school and never make it here. I didn't say that he isn't comparable to Drae, but Gray doesn't seem to be being recruited as a WR, he is a pure RB, and Drae was never good enough to even be considered at RB or WR here once he got on campus. Gray is 5'10'', very few WR's are that small. The only thing you can say to compare them is they both played for small Christian schools and had success. Gray is going to be a RB, and may or may not succeed, and Bowles was a WR who didn't.

He may be taking a closer look at the line we are building. We have Morris committed, Wright is looking probable, Smith is a beast already, and we will have a slew of experienced lineman in the JR and Sr ranks. The future looks like a running backs dream.

Nice, but man Beasley would be a heck of a defensive player. Dude can hit.

man i could not agree more. I love him as a prospect and think he will be very very good for someone. I think Eric Gray is an upgrade at RB, but only slightly. Beasley's versatility is nice. Could play 3 positions

Maybe the staff saw whatloss of chandler the first two wks did to explosiveness.
Very good point. I really like Jordan and Banks but it’s obvious they don’t have the explosiveness Chandler has. I believe our offense was limited when he was out.
