'19 TN RB Eric Gray

Very good point. I really like Jordan and Banks but it’s obvious they don’t have the explosiveness Chandler has. I believe our offense was limited when he was out.

I think Banks hits the hole hard, which is obviously good(when one is there)

Vision and elusiveness...not there so far...

Like what he brings tho...

And? Sure, Drae played RB and WR in high school, and did well. But busted here. Not sure your point. Tons of kids do well in high school and never make it here. I didn't say that he isn't comparable to Drae, but Gray doesn't seem to be being recruited as a WR, he is a pure RB, and Drae was never good enough to even be considered at RB or WR here once he got on campus. Gray is 5'10'', very few WR's are that small. The only thing you can say to compare them is they both played for small Christian schools and had success. Gray is going to be a RB, and may or may not succeed, and Bowles was a WR who didn't.

Just off the top of my head that are current starters in the NFL:
Antonio Brown
Odell Beckham Jr
Tyreek Hill
Julian Edelman
Brandin Cooks
Doug Baldwin
T.Y. Hilton
Jarvis Landry
Golden Tate
Desean Jackson
Tavon Austin
Randall Cobb
Sterling Shepherd
Emmanuel Sanders

.... most of those are the undisputed WR1 for their respective team

A few from yesteryear:
Steve Smith
Wes Welker
Lynn Swann
Mark Duper
Terry Glenn
Bob Hayes
Peerless Price
Santana Moss
Percy Harvin
Chris Chambers
Devin Hester
Greg Jennings

I'm sure there's a bunch more... I wouldn't call a WR under 6' rare at all :p

man i could not agree more. I love him as a prospect and think he will be very very good for someone. I think Eric Gray is an upgrade at RB, but only slightly. Beasley's versatility is nice. Could play 3 positions

Has Beasley publicly said where he wants to play in college?

Well done. I am very obviously wrong. Good research. Amazing honestly. I'm 5'10'', and am shocked that Antonio Brown is the same height as me. Just seems unreal. Apologies for the very obviously incorrect statement.

I mean has he ever said he wants to specifically play RB or DB in college.
Not sure but he's a running back in high school who only plays safety cause his team doesn't have anyone else to play safety. He's a big hitter but doesn't really look that natural on defense.

Ok thanks. For some reason I thought he primarily played safety and occasionally played RB.

Them Memphis Boys: Banks and Gray with a little Middle Tennessee mixed in there with Chandler. Then we get Jordan too. I like that backfields potential right there. Now if we get the right side of the line to block like the left, they would kill it next year.

The Michigan running back commit has been putting up big numbers his entire high school career, albeit against lower level competition in the state of Tennessee. But earlier this season he had a huge game against Memphis power Whitehaven, a team loaded with future FBS players on both sides of the ball. Gray nearly single-handedly led his team to victory and while we have been cautious because of his competition level and size, it’s clear Gray has earned another move up the rankings.

The Vols have yet to receive a commitment from a running back in the 2019 class. “They were saying that they just want one guy,” Gray said. “They just want one guy to commit, and then they’re done. “Their offense, to me, is very intriguing. Coach Weinke, he’s a Heisman Trophy winner. You can’t go wrong with that. I just want to get up there for a game and see how the game atmosphere is. Definitely, a night game against Florida, it’s going to be a great atmosphere.

“I’ve seen they’re doing pretty good in the run game. I like their schemes and different stuff — how they’re using the backs. Like Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt said, that West Virginia game was a lot closer than the score was,” Gray added, referring to Tennessee’s season-opening 40-14 loss. “I think their offense is doing pretty good.”

Some of Gray’s “friends and family” who have been to games at Tennessee, he said, have told him “it’s amazing at Tennessee in Neyland Stadium — especially at night under the lights.” He said his parents are planning to accompany him on the trip to Knoxville this weekend. During the visit, he said he will be watching to see “how they use the backs” and trying to determine whether he can “see myself in the offense.”

“It’s not so much the wins and losses for me with any team — even with Michigan,” Gray said. “It’s just the development of the team and the coaches and how I see myself fitting in.”

He needs to watch Chandler cause that is how they would use him. Similar imo
