'19 TN RB Eric Gray

When has this staff had any success with BIGGER BACKS. They took Banks and moved him to the bench. All years seems as if they were moving somebody. Ty Chandler is a very good back and could have been much better if not for a poor offensive line. If the kid wants to play running back and his heart is set on it then I hope he goes to a school that accepts him as a running back. This getting to Tennessee and being pulled and moved everywhere and never seeming to fill a spot has to end.
When has this staff had bigger backs? Or at least real good big backs?

Need big maulers on the O-line for big backs to be effective. Dont have that yet.

If some cards fall like most think they will, our OL next year could likely be:

LT: Tatum/Morris(5*)
LG: Smith/J Johnson
C: Kennedy/Locklear
RG: R Johnson/Carvin
RT: Wright(5*)/Neihaus

That's a pretty good OL and worlds better than what we had by years end. Most people think Smith will be cleared for football and Kennedy should make a good recovery. The only player we lose going into 2020 is Kennedy and possibly Smith if he declares. Otherwise, that depth chart is in-tact for 2020.

Bear in mind, most of those guys languished under a lacidasical S&C program under lyle. Given a full off-season of S&C (and, you know, getting most of our OL over 300lbs) and removal of cancerous tissue, I expect our OL will be more physical, especially if we have a legit OT that can allow Smith to slide to OG where he's more comfortable.

A full year in a legit S&C program will work wonders for Jahmir/Ryan Johnson, Calbert and Neihaus who showed flashes of potential but they languished under lyle and Carvin was a True Freshman. Our OL, by the end of the season, was in shambles.
Don’t forget about chance hall. He’s got one more year and is completely healthy right now, compared to last year when he was about to have surgery. Jahmir Johnson being closer to 300lbs instead of 270 will be big

Ollie Lane?

Ollie Lane?

That's just my predicted 2-deep, not all players on roster. Lane RS'd so I anticipated known players being ahead.

True, but, Hall was on a snap count most of this year and the early career promise he showed at OT is gone. His knees look to be completely shot.

Exactly... And what bigger backs r they recruiting

Crouch.

And it is silly to say this staff has never had any success with bigger backs. This staff has been here all of one season. Banks started off well, but then had the dropsies. He can work on ball security in the offseason or stay at LB, which was his choice, not the staff's insistence that he move.
