Had trust in this staff before yesterday and quadrupled my trust after yesterday. They do a great job evaluating physically and culturally. This locker room is gonna rock straight to Atlanta. Haven’t felt this way about UT football nor the whole ath dept in longggg time !We turned down a good WR who signed with GA because of numbers ourselves so I do not believe we take a 3rd freshman RB. In CHRIST Alone
Locker room is tight. Coaching staff and Head Man our Genuine. In the Coaching world that is in short Supply. Ok, I went and watched as much film on him as I could find. I see why he was processed by UGA. Your evaluation on him was correct to an extent, but there are other factors that I saw as well that still make him a viable SEC running back. He has a lot of the same issues that I saw with Cody Brown last year. They have excellent vision, balance, and a low center of gravity that allows them to bounce off tackles. They both also have the ability to pick and slide in tight spaces to make defenders miss. The issues they share is that they are both bulky and compact with tightly wound muscle fibers. I see this alot in high school athletes that are weight room warriors. As they progress through high school, they lose flexibility. Thus, also losing speed. This can be fixed, but coaches see a kid that can't grow in their S&C program because their bodies have maxed out. Like I said, it can be fixed because it's 100% about flexibility. The problem is he would initially need to be on a completely different regimen than most of his teammates and position group. It's a reason why high school S&C programs can ruin some kids because it's not always a one size fits all sort of thing. He needs not to early enroll and work with a personal trainer and speed coach until he'd have to report in the summer. A good example of someone who did this type of thing to themselves is Trent Richardson. It just happened much later because he's a physical freak. The successful coaches have that ability to see a high school kid and how they transition into college. The games are completely different. Every coach makes mistakes but the successful ones hit on alot more than they miss on.
Take him and turn one or more into ILB’s. That’s what Fulmer used to do
Somewhere on this site I had already posted that of all the top instate guys we did not lead on, that he was one of those I would think would be the bigger miss. We had our QB, the twins story is what it is, have the WR position covered too. I now realize he also just led his team to the championship in our highest class of schools, he is a tough runner, BUT BUT BUT, I don't know what our staff told the RB we did sign, especially Williams about how many backs would be in our class. Not a fear of competition issue but more of a splitting the reps issue. I hate this is not a no-brainer call if he remains on the board. Would love to step in and get a good ball player and some good will at this school and probably the entire Midstate region. But with the two guys we pivoted to and our other post signing day needs I don't know how it will turn out.
Yes he did. Just fell into the trap of UGA being a “cool” school to go to. I don’t think he is considering TN now, especially since we don’t have a spot. Right now I’ve heard from him that it’s UGA in Feb unless they don’t take him, followed by Florida, Oklahoma, and North CarolinaDid this kid ever seriously consider Tennessee or does he have some manufactured issue with UT?
Get that kid some power yoga!Ok, I went and watched as much film on him as I could find. I see why he was processed by UGA. Isn't that taking Ga. Rejects? We should 100% burn a spot to take James after UGA screws him over. Too many sour grapes in here to see the big picture.
Let's exploit the cautionary tale that UGA just created and take care of the in state kid.
"Oh that big school from out of state is tempting, you sure they're going to let you sign on ESD? You see what they did to Jordan James at the last minute?"
I would consider looking around wavering a little bit but I agree with your point. I just think if I were leaving somewhere bc of numbers, I would go somewhere were they only had 1 RB. That's the logical plan imoExactly...he never wavered thru any of that. So, it doesn't entirely surprise me that he isn't scared off by anyone UNC may have.
As I understand it, he isn't leaving because of numbers. He's looking around solely because UGA won't let him sign early, right? If not for that, he'd have signed with UGA, Wednesday.I would consider looking around wavering a little bit but I agree with your point. Yeah, that's what I meant. Just possibly being kicked out due to numbers, you would think he wouldn't choose a path with 2 stars at their position already. UGA isn't going to get Gibbs so none of this is going to matter thoAs I understand it, he isn't leaving because of numbers. He's looking around solely because UGA won't let him sign early, right?
