Seems so odd that we wouldn’t at least take a good hard look at James given our lack of depth and elite talent at RB. I guess coaches really didn’t like him, but this one is a headscratcher to me.

Not sure if Sampson is better than Williams, but both of our signees are better than Jordan in my opinion. I do feel like Sampson will surprise some folks.

I seem to recall a year where we signed 3 RBs …. Names were Jamal Lewis, Travis Stephens & Travis Henry… I believe they were all 3 very good & all big contributors….

Hate it for him but glad that Kirby left an unwelcomed offering for the middle Tennessee punchbowl. If you check back you will see he was one of the guys we missed on that I hated the most. Not saying we need to take him with our other signees on board and number crunch but I was impressed with how nobody seemed to be able to stop him. Could have been the line I guess, but Maryville was no match for that attack and that does not happen much.

He took him to keep him from Rival programs so he would shut down his recruitment and not listen to a school like TN. He never planned to sign him once the five star was in the fold

I’m not sure when that rule was put in but I found the 2001 class that I mentioned and there were 23 signees that particular year. The OL class had only 2 signees (Paul Monroe and Richie Gandy)

Hell Pruitt had a class of 25 mercenaries. Best player was a 'scrub' from Cali that his OC - whom he fired - ran into.

He's about to put a bunch in the NFL include 2 or more first rounders. That is what they see. Kids know they have real NFL shot when they get a commitable offer from Bama. It may start getting that way with UGA. It's kind of that way with Ohio State and Clemson, although the bloom was off the rose at Clemson this year.
