TN vs Georgia Determines what direction this Program will head

No, if, and's, or buts, candy or nuts about it. This game determines whether or not our program can rise to the top amid the ashes like the phoenix or stay in the smoldering ashes for another 5 years with below mediocre depth, recruits and results on the field in the win and loss column. This is the biggest game in the history of the program bar none. 50 recruits will be at neyland tomorrow. GO VOLS!! BEAT GEORGIA!!!

Ha, calm down Debbie.

I think that Auburn/Mizzou are our most important games this year.

We have to win one of those if we want to make a bowl.

A competitive game considering the expectations would be fine with the recruiting effort. UT doesn't need the boo birds or people leaving at half time.... or fans selling their tickets to UGA fans.

The best thing that could happen regardless of outcome would be to create the perception that Jones and staff outcoached UGA. No one doubts UGA has more talent right now... but Richt is and always has been a middling "coach". Good guy. Good recruiter... but nothing impressive as far as being a great "coach".

We are a 3-2 team that will most likely finish 5-7 or 6-6. So tell me again, why is this the biggest game in the history of the program? I'll hang up and listen.

He's referring to the 40 or 50 top shelf recruits who will be in attendance. A blow out loss coupled with bad fan reactions would not help land them. Landing them is critical to the future of the program.

I'm guessing from your predictions that you are OK with Jones undercoaching the current roster, right?

There are 3 more teams on the roster with less talent than UT. UT is close enough to USCe and Auburn to get a win.

Christ Almighty OP...............................................DRAMA MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The many sane, lucid responses above have more than shown why this is not the most important game in the history of the program. Who can even determine what that game would be?

We are expected to lose. Unfortunately, we probably will. Stop drinking whatever you're drinking. Or, maybe, I guess, if you're not drinking, you should probably start now if this thread presents an honest picture of where you are mentally. :loco:

One of the dumbest posts of ALL time, and that's saying something for Volnation....It's CBJ's FIRST year, and he ain't even half way through the season....

I say winning 3 SEC games is a good season this year--and 4 would be a GREAT turnaround and a very reachable goal....GO VOLS! Beat dem puppies! :salute:

So if they lose a game they are supposed to lose it sets us back?

Lets play those games before we judge how he will coach in them and it is only your opinion that he has under coached. You cannot provide one legit instance where the team was under coached. You may be able to provide questionable decisions but not under coached players.

If he loses to teams with less talent then he has undercoached the roster. Vandy, Mizzou, and UK have less talent... and it isn't all that close.

I full well expect him to win those games IF he's the right coach to bring UT back... plus pull off an upset vs UGA, USCe, or Auburn by outcoaching them.

I have said it numerous times. UT will NEVER rise to the level of championship play with a coach who only beats the teams with less talent. I'm not sure any program can but UT for sure cannot because of the lack of instate talent. There is a two edged sword. UT's coach has to outcoach others because he may have a disadvantage in talent AND he will only pull elite out of state recruits in consistently sufficient numbers if he demonstrates he's an elite coach... who can beat teams who have more talent.

I do not have to believe Jones is the "guy" at this point to support him. In fact, I would say that it is pretty foolish to ignore his possible deficiencies and shortcomings. I'm just not ready to declare him a sure bet if he does no better than Dooley did in his first season.

Hahaha... Sometimes I drink at breakfast too, but I try not to post after I reach a certain buzz. Let's get a little perspective here. We will improve. We will play better than last week. We have as much a chance as anybody. Georgia needs a bad game and we need our best game but it's possible. So let's go play some ball and enjoy the rise back to the top. No matter what the final score ... Make it a game and walk away a better team.

If we hold on to the recruiting class we have this year and sign another one about as good then that will determine which way the program is headed. This Georgia game tomorrow will not determine anything except where we are as a team at this time.

Since everything is negative usuallly on these forums, how about something positive, anyone notice how our open field tackling has improved from the last couple of years. Yes, we have missed some, and had some blown plays, but im pleasently happy about some of our players tackling ability
