TN vs Georgia Determines what direction this Program will head

Dude get a grip. This team is horrible this yr!!! QB situation is horrendous!!!! That's why I'm sticking to a 4-8 season. GA is going to massacre us and all realists ought to realize this!!!! Only team I see us beating is Kentucky. That's it. There's always next yr to get better. This season is a wash at this point...

I see a win at home over Vandy not a road win over Kentucky

I think if we are in this game in the 4th quarter its a victory in and of itself. That would make me happy. If we give it all we've got for 4 quarters and we don't make stupid mistakes and have a crazy amount of drops, then I can deal with a loss to Georgia.

The losses that really annoy me are the ones where we beat ourselves. The Florida game was particularly annoying because we did have an honest chance of winning that game.

Georgia is good there is no doubt about that but they have also played 3 really good teams over the last month and they are exhausted from it. That isn't even mentioning the loss of their best WR during the endzone celebration and the loss of Gurley.

We are at home, they are weakened by injuries and our team is still yet to play 4 quarters of good football on both sides of the ball. If we can do that, then there is a chance we can win. If we come out and play good for a quarter and then let up we are screwed beyond imagination.

No, if, and's, or buts, candy or nuts about it. This game determines whether or not our program can rise to the top amid the ashes like the phoenix or stay in the smoldering ashes for another 5 years with below mediocre depth, recruits and results on the field in the win and loss column. This is the biggest game in the history of the program bar none. 50 recruits will be at neyland tomorrow. GO VOLS!! BEAT GEORGIA!!!

You are an i***t!!!

If you base the improvement off of game one to now I would agree the offense has improved more but I based my opinion from last season to now. Last season the defense with pretty much the same players as this season could not line up properly and were consistently out of position. This season we are lined up properly and and in position to make plays and while we are not always making the plays we have been schemed into position.

Regardless of the opponent, that 3rd down conversion from Worley to Croom was all I needed to see to let JW end on a good note. I think Worley and Croom are going to have a great rest of the season and it sucks because Worley might not be the guy next year.[/QUOTE]

I have seen flashes of how this offense will eventually work and really like it. I hate it for Worley as he is being asked to play in a system that he is not suited for.

So look at a hypothetical seneroe we loose to UGA but then win out the rest of the season we still suck and never rise above the ashes? Your philosophy states we still suck even if we beat usce and the number one team in the nation? Not saying we have a snow balls chance in hell but just trying to understand

Honestly thought this game does matter as far as all the recruits being there. But he'll they even they know CBJ is trying his damnedest to rebuilt this program and we are defiantly years away from where we need to be. Some will see it as a challenge and help get us to where we need to be others wont.

I said that to say this. I do agree with your last comment Go VOLS and beat Georgia. Time to end the streak against ranked teams.

I think three conference wins would be suffice as a gigantic step in the right direction this year. This year isn't over if we don't upset the #6 team in the nation. UGA is good. Real good.

Yeah, there is a chance that this could be a surprise boost for our program ...

... but really, we are in it for the long haul, not, "I want it NOW, or I'm gonna quit." We don't quit, we build, brick by brick.

This game basically determines whether we win or lose. That's about it. As long as the team is competing, I don't think it will turn most of the potential recruits away. Those that are reasonably smart will realize that every year is a new start, and many will take the challenge to contribute to the re-building process. UT currently has the 7th most players of any college in the NFL, and are third since 1992. This is definitely a place with a future.

Tennessee just needs to play with heart, not quit early, and hopefully keep it from being a blowout. How well the coaches do their jobs' will go a long way with retaining the onlooking recruits. I don't think a lot of people (excluding Vol fans) really expect us to win this one.

Lord have mercy. Take a deep breathe and enjoy our game tomorrow. No game this year determines anything about where we go in the future. Some games this year may help indicate where we are going, but none determine it.

No it doesn't.

Good grief, Jacob Carter is returning punts. Do you people not comprehend the talent deficit?

Really. I dont think that 5 years from now we will look back to this game as a season changer. It will take a complete season to turn the corner. That may not be this year. Anything can happen. Thats why we play. I will be happy with good effort and great exevution with few mistakes. If that happens and we still loose, that is progress over last year and i will take that this year

Go Vols

the world we know will change forever based off the results of this one, single game.

everyone kiss their loved ones today, if UT loses you may never see them again.

then again, OP may just be a drama queen.

I see about a 2% chance of Jones being a good enough coach to keep this job after 3 years if he cannot beat UK this year with this roster vs their roster.

Carter can catch punts and is not a Freshman. Talent per se did not lead to that decision. I wouldn't put a Fr out there either.

Has no effect what direction the program is going. One game in a season doesn't determine that.

The key word you used was put a scare into them much the way a underdog did to us last week and we have fans freaking out. If Kiffin had beat Bama that year would any one be saying he Saban under coached his team.
Yes. You can bet that Bama fans would have been saying that. Instead, they won a championship, right?

I guess I am trying to say because your team under preforms for one half of a game that does not define you as a coach. If we judged teams on half game performances Dooley would have been the best coach in the country.

I agree. I am primarily concerned with the performance over a season. No sane person expects a coach to never "lose" a half or even have a bad game.

I don't think you can use last year's D under Sal as a comparison basis for anything. I can honestly say I have never seen a worse coaching job by anyone at any level.

I'm not sure that's true. He runs well enough if they'll get him to run. I feel sorry that he's having to go through the ugly part of the installation without at least one quality, experienced receiver to be his go to guy... and then he's being judged and booed by people because HE looks bad.

He may never be the right qb for one reason or another. But it is hardly reasonable to make a final judgment on him based on what he's had to deal with so far.
