In theory you are correct; but it’s WHERE he went that makes it a bigger issue. Like Henry T, if he would have went to Just about any other school, it would be easier to let it go.There's too many people trying take this seriously...and then tell us to "let it go"
There's too many people trying to bad mouth the kid for making a smart decision for himself.
Alabama wanted him because he's a quick, sure handed, tough WR. Their WRs on the roster now are super soft and lack fundamentals. We don't have those problems.
We might get Kam Mikell and Wingo!
And we already have Matthews and Staley.
Amari wasn't going to take our WR roon to another level. But he will tremendously help Alabamas.
There's just not a lot to get mad at with this result.
Good chance he ends up in pro baseball anyway.

I won’t pretend to know how good he is in baseball. However, I have read (I think) that he has a draftable grade. I understand late round. But he could be the 1 year in college and then declare. No question he loves baseball more. I think he recognizes, at some level, football may be a better ticket for his future but he’s a baseball lover.
I know baseball is a lot harder to make the bigs. Ive just never understood why anyone with ability to play multiple professional sports would choose football. No question he loves baseball more. In high school, football gets you all the attention and recognition locally and from your peers. High school girls acknowledge football and basketball players. I'm not saying that's his motivation, just stating that 17yo boys don't usually see the long-term big picture. If I had the foresight back then, I definitely would have chosen my baseball offers over football. And...it should be obvious how much I love the game of football.I know baseball is a lot harder to make the bigs. Baseball salaries are massive, toll exacted on one's body is much less, and you get paid year round.
Ok @LittleVol and @BIGORANGENATION before you hop in here...knowing it all.View attachment 568164
Baseball Players unfortunately also have to spend a whole lot more time on the roadI know baseball is a lot harder to make the bigs. Ive just never understood why anyone with ability to play multiple professional sports would choose football.

Average rookie salary (base) is nearly double that of football, and they get paid when not playing. Mean salary of players is more than double that.Baseball Players unfortunately also have to spend a whole lot more time on the road

You have to have completed your junior year of college or be at least 21 to enter the MLB Draft if you go to collegeI won’t pretend to know how good he is in baseball. Maybe he just chose Bama. It happens. A lot.Makes one wonder if our resolve to sign him this fall was impacted by CTV predicting him to forego college for baseball. Get him inside the 3 year baseball window and lure him home after year 1 if indicated. Just a guess based on I did not see our BB coach called in late in the process to assist in recruitment. Did I just miss it?
Some go to JUCO and then can be drafted after the first year. Bryce Harper reclassified as a high school junior after earning his GED, so he could attend JUCO and be eligible for the draft in what would have been his senior year. When did that change? I thought it was just 1 year? Then if you decide to stay in college, you have to sit out 3 more years before being draft eligible.
