16 team playoff. Divide the nation into 4 divisions and take the top 4 from each.

Not if they come in and win in their first year.
Why is a playoff impossible? Every other division of football has one.

Every year the media says, "this is the year for them to prove themselves!" Yeah, they just beat a top 10 team on national TV, but did they not do something to a similar effect last season?
They didn't get bumped into national title consideration by beating Oregon last season (who went on to play in the Rose Bowl). It is always the same; they start out in the top 5, the media says this is the year, they beat the teams they needed to beat and everyone else, and by seasons end they don't get a sniff at the title game.
I don't see how it is going to be any different this season either. Even if Alabama lost 1 game if they beat Florida in the SEC Championship they will leap frog BS, and you can say that for other teams as well.
boise is clearly a top-10 team, but top 1 or 2? no way. also vtech never should have been ranked in the top-10.
Makes me laugh everytime Boise St beats someone good that people come here and run their mouths talking about how they only play ONE good team every year...YET, They beat that good team....Every Year...Get over it, Boise St is for real and they keep proving it time after time.
There is no way you watch that game tonight and deny that Boise State is legit.
Why is it that Boise only plays ranked team at the BEGGINING of the season..If you give a team a whole year to prepare of VT why wouldn't they win.. Why don't they play teams like Texas, Ohio State, Iowa, USC, ect.. during the season..When they only have ONE week to prepare for a big game..22 returning players that have to play ONE big game all year...Let them do it every week like in the SEC and the other BCS teams...Then say of they are GOOD..until then they just play one game at the start of the season that you had ALL year to prepare for..The are only 7-7 against BCS schools in the past 8 yrs..playing most of them at the END of the year when they have had time to prepare over a month for them...

Some of those teams have rejected the request to play Boise. V Tech had a whole year to prepare for Boise as well so that is not a good comparison.

You guys can hate on Boise all you like but they have accomplished way more then we have in the past years. Even if you take out the we play a tough schedule just factor in us playing a good team at the beginning and we still lose. I bet Boise wouldn't lose to UCLA if they played them.

When everyone was saying BSU couldn't possibly hang with Virginia Tech, I predicted that if BSU won the argument would change to, "well VT isn't that good anyway."
Just keep moving the bars and the lines...
