The one where he took a highly publicized trip to be courted by Jones and staff only to get a raise and reject us in just as publicized of an event to side with one of the biggest enemy of the program. Then this situation where he made some really classless remarks about our no.1 ranked incoming player... That's where

If he really thought he was making a statement in private, why wouldnt he give his alma mater props? It's not like the comment would have been biased or incorrect or out of line ( in private ). You don't think anyone other than UT fans noticed our dominance in recruiting this year?

In their assessment of Hurd, they thought and think that he is soft, whats the big deal? Its not like he went on TV or in the public to, in your words, "bash" Hurd. He turned down a coordinator job to UT is, in your definition, "dissing" UT? I think you are making this out to be way more than what it really is.

I heard the tape and also listened to Tee on another tape and it sure sounded like his voice. I know he's a VFL but this is hard to understand. Could he really have some contempt for Tennessee? On the flip site, here's hoping Hurdy makes him eat his words in the coming years.

Here's a fun conspiracy tone type of thing...suppose that after Tee declined our kind offer and returned to the land of silicon and sunshine...that he had built in his mind that he was the recruiting savior that got away. The staff he had rejected had three recruiters with SEC experience in Graham,Martinez and Thig...(not classifying Jancek as a recruiter)...Thig had a solid rep but wasn't labelled the beast that he eventually become. Possible that Tee built up in mind that the 13 class was more indicative of a Tee-less staff than this 14 beast blew up to be? Jalen Hurd is the bell cow of this stud class and dismissed a chance to play at Tee's employer pretty early..
Chance to allay a slightly dinged ego with a light crack?...not lending credence to anything deeper...ultimately not important but fun speculating of an alpha male mind.

First off he didn't "highly publicize" his trip. It was our local media, internet insiders, outsiders , undersiders ect..., that investigated our coaching search like the CIA. He was asked to come to Knoxville to talk with coach Jones about a coaching vacancy. He did but decided to stay where he was at. Could have been for a number of reasons....money, family, career, ect.., really doesn't matter.

Secondly I really dont see giving his opinion on a recruit during a warroom meeting as a insult to Tennessee.

He said it. That's all folks. The fact that you are still talking about it would signify you need to grow up. Just move on or let it go.

Tee made a mistake when he went personal. Can't take it back and probably will never cross his mind again.

Why get your blood pressure up over a stupid statement. I don't think anybody is defending him or his actions. I just think they have moved on beyond this incident.

Life is full of disappointments. This is one of them, so come off of the cliff.

You mean he didnt take out tv ads and go on late night to let everyone know he was going to Knoxville to diss UT??

Queue up the Law & Order theme!

My thought is maybe he's buds with Jay Graham and they conversed and decided even though both were in the Vol family they weren't a fit with Jones' style? I have no knowledge of this, either way, but it's something else to think about. Plus, I don't think Tee's wife is too fond of ET. Not sure why.
