To Protect and to Serve II

Why do cops hate dogs?

Cops kill innocent and subdued people all the time, so I guess killing a dog isn’t that big of a deal.
They mostly profile as psychopaths and authoritarians. If anyone (or anything) stands in their way, they seem to error on the side of brut or deadly force.

They don't understand discretion or cutting slack.

I’m just enforcing trespassing laws.

Why are laws never enforced against politicians or their friends?

We have just seen friends of Obama leaving a party that Obama had that were involved in a traffic stop who were possibly intoxicated and in possession of drugs released with out being arrested or ticketed.

For the most part the only people that cops serve and protect and the rich elitist and politicians.

It's pretty simple really, they value their pension more than your rights.

Maybe some of them do. But some of us don't.

I have the luxury of a full-time job that pays me well. I work part-time at my S.O. now. I have the privilege of working for a very good Sheriff. He is a good man, a Christian, and he firmly believes in the "Serve and Protect" philosophy. We are a proactive agency, which some would consider to be aggressive, but we target crime and criminal behavior. If you are not a criminal, then you have no reason to fear us. If you are, then we are doing our best to put you where you belong.

We are not, and will not, be in the business of vaccine jabs or confiscating firearms. Down here, we value, as our Sheriff does, the right of individual choice...and the 2nd Amendment. Neither one of which we will infringe upon.

Will it happen elsewhere? Perhaps. Maybe yes. But hold off on that broad brush against all LEO's. There are those of us...more than you know...who value our oath more than we value a paycheck and a pension that are nothing to brag about.

As the United States Marine Corps would say, Semper Fidelis.

Some of us honor that oath. Those who don't deserve the full measure of your disrespect.

They are shorted sighted in that line of thinking. The very laws that they enforce now will be applied to their children, family and friends.

I can't imagine being a cop enforcing an unjust law and knowing full well that my son or daughter could be victims of the very same laws.

Thats just the thing, Greywolf. It all comes down to the definition of crime. In this world we've stepped into, all bets are off.

Obviously, not wearing a mask on provate property is a matter for the police to insert themselves in... and they don't seem to have an issue with it.

I guess if I'm a guest at someone's home and the dinner is too salty or the air conditioning is not set at the right temp that the police should insert themselves in that also.

Pretty soon, the police will be able to insert themselves in all sorts of trivial disputes at any residence under the umbrella of "trespassing".

Or, police can exercise a bit of common sense and discretion.

If the dispatcher gets a 911 call about someone not wearing a mask in a residence or private establishment, that cop has a decision to make...

Ras, those are all property issues. If the property owner doesn’t want you there, you need to leave. While we do have an epidemic of people so willing to involve the cops in issues, it all comes down to property rights.

I'm all for property rights.

But there are some things that should involve the police and other things that should not.

If I make a rule that you can't enter my home with shoes on and someone refuses, then I need to be the one that handles that issue. Not the police. That is an arbitrary house rule that I have established that I need to enforce.

On the other hand, if there is an act of violence, damage to property being committed or someone comes uninvited/intrudes, then that is when the police are warranted and necessary.

Property rights come with responsibilities for the property owner, as well.

The problem is cops like you and your Sheriff are getting to retirement age and being replaced with kids juicing steroids and out for the adrenaline rush.

What friends? What drugs? Which officers? I’ve seen rich people and politicians arrested before
