Unless we want to give Pearl inordinate praise for getting a guy as a transfer who initially signed with Buzz Peterson, I'm missing where any of his recruits have been anything other than bad to slightly better than average on the floor.

Except that Maze isn't worthless, he's just not a great PG. And, I'm just wondering how all these worthless players keep winning games? It boggles the mind that no one has worked out, yet we keep winning 20+ games each year and going to the tournament.

I'm sure all of that will change this year, though. Right? I mean, we are in year 5 of the Pearl Disaster, one more after this year until he flames out, and he's all his own guys. These guys, whom you very clearly state, completely suck and should not be able to win, say, 25 games.

Am I correct?

Name one PG Pearl has recruited that has worked out. That is a bad track record.

His highly touted '06 class was a massive bust. Chism is the only non bust.

'07 Tatum is average and B. Williams is terrible.

'08 Two players never even played a game. Woolridge has time but really needs to improve. Maze can't play D.

How many players has Pearl recruited to UT that have made an All-SEC team?

Let's just go back to Buzzball when we always got the top recruits and couldn't compet with UTC. I remember Buzz indicating that it was a waste of time to recruit top players because we simply couldn't sign any--oh how I long for the two and occasional three star recruits he brought in and hoping we could reach double digit wins each season.

Yeah, because we all know there's a federal statute that mandates Buzz Peterson or Bruce Pearl be the coach at Tennessee. Nobody else in America is allowed to hold the job.

How many games did they win in the NCAA Tournament last year? How many of the NCAA tournament teams they played in the nonconference portion of the schedule did they beat? They squeaked by the Belmonts of the world and won games in a SEC that was no better than the A-10. Great job. That's exactly what we're paying 2 mil plus annually for. The two losses to the worst Kentucky team in two decades was also a nice touch.

I'm not a CBB guru or gigantic fan but everyone says this is a post-season/tournament sport.

Pearl is 8-8 in post-season play at UT.

How is that really that much better than other "great" UT coaches?

I'm not falling to my knees in praise of someone whose deepest run into the NCAA Tournament is a regional semi. My personal feelings about Tanning Bed are well documented. There are plenty of coaches I detest, but I still respect the product they put on the floor. I can't say that for Dana Pump's Prize Whore.

On one hand you say we are a national player for the first time yet tout 3 SECE Division Championships (when there is no such thing).

National teams don't use division titles that don't exist as proof of their importance. That makes us South Carolina, not North Carolina/

Yeah, except the Fulmerites were still going strong when we were having losing seasons and getting the snot beat out of us by all of our rivals for years. Remind me how this is the same thing?

I also love how everyone who doesn't take the idea that Pearl is some kind of horrible coach for going 23-11 last year is a coward.
