I agree with this. I'd probably tell him that I'd release him if he agrees to sit down with Martin first. That will at least give Martin a chance to keep the kid. If he still wants out, he should be released.
So, becuase our entity screwed up royally and completely changed everything that the initial LOI was believed to be, Ware now has to agree to everything that changed? Bull. That is the clear definition of "extenuating circumstance". I guess you missed that day at the Adult Education Annex?
I also have a hard time listening to people attempt to explain to me how contracts operate when they can't even spell "you're".
Case closed.
Both Jones and Ware called Hamilton before they sent their LOI and asked if Pearl would be here to coach them. Pearl is gone now so that is over and done. We can't set a different standard for the AD and one for the
recruits.
Wants to complete staff prior to meeting with recruits.
I would say it should be other way around, whats the point of having a staff if there are hardly any kids to use. 18-22 yr old kids are fickle put out the fire then get staff. I mean how much time is really needed to sit and talk to a kid?
Recruits likely want to know who will be on the staff before making a decision. If Martin hires someone with ties to Memphis or ATL then that will likely impact the recruits' decision. As mentioned in other threads, Martin has contacted Jones, but the two have not had a formal meeting to discuss Jones' future with the Vols.
Awesome. We behave like Lyin' George O'Leary. Way to set the bar high. We're not the only school that doesn't release players from LOIs. The LOIs are binding contracts.

I have the perspective of having my coaches changed during my college career. However, that is completely different than having the coach that recruited you to the University you haven't attended yet, with all the promises and relationships being built over a year of or two of recruiting, being changed right before you get there. IMO, Cuonzo should have the opportunity to meet with the kid and his family face to face, but then the decision should lie with the kid, not the school.
