Just so everyone is aware, I do agree that the Huskers had a more impressive resume, but I just don't think they win head to head.
It's hard to simply compare them that way. I understand the comparison doesn't really work for teams many years apart, but it's not really fair to compare teams solely on their season when they don't play the same schedule. It should definitely be considered, but I feel like you have to look at more than that.Well, would the 1938 Vols beat the 2008 Vols? I know there isn't as much of a time difference, but that's not my point. The point is who was the best team ever in THEIR respective season. I doubt very much whoever put the list together thinks that '45 Army would beat '99 FSU.

Their average margin of victory wasn't that much higher, and I could be wrong, but it seemed like they were more likely to run up the score. I just think the Canes defense gives them the nod.Nebraska's schedule was as tough, if not tougher. They played a much better opponent in the NC. They completely buzz sawed everybody in their way.

I did as well. They did run up the score, but it's not really any different what Nebraska did all season, with a few exceptions. (I'm just basing that on the game box scores. Don't remember how their performance actually varied by half.)
lol:
You beat FSU's backup QB in a game plagued by turnovers and mistakes.
That said, the Vols were the best team in the country that year and a very deserving national champion....but they were NOWHERE near Top 10 all-time.

HA HA HA! lol: And your mighty Gators were destroyed by that SAME backup QB that exact same year HA HA HA now that right there is funny! lol: Now do all of us a favor and go drink a big ole glass of draino so We do not have to read anymore of your stupidity! lol:
And UF's whipped UT's ass the past half decade....neither is relevant to the thread topic.
This isn't a discussion about UF's '98 squad. Like your '98 squad they don't deserve to sniff the Top 10 CFB all-time teams...even less in fact.
And here's a little tip for you....if you don't quote my posts, then you and others won't have to read them multiple times. lol:
But we all know you can't resist.

You didn't that year....Noooooo sir eeee....No the 98 UT team was not one of the top 10 ever...Good enough to beat UF and FSU however...Hold the great Peter Warrick to 5 yards recieving...Uh how many yards did he have against UF that year?....Oh nevermind, Doesn't matter does it Bottomline is UF LOST to the Rooster lmao..That in itself is worth an honorable mention..Now please, Proceed with the draino ingestion, :good!:
Yep, I knew you couldn't resist.
And it's spelled "Drano".....please tell me you didn't graduate from UT. :lolabove:
