Oh, and as far as "players only meetings", they work great on movies, but they are usually the sad symptoms of a team in a death spiral in the real world. Kinda troubling if they have already resorted to one.

Truth.

Cuonzo recruits the players, "teaches" the players, and decides who plays and who sits.

Blame the refs, blame Stokes for not playing hard...whatever.

It all falls back on Martin at the end of it.

You forgot the SEC championship and the Pre season NIT championship. Also forgot to mention that we played anybody anywhere and held our own. Beat Texas, Kansas, Ohio State, Georgetown, etc, etc.

I love how people that don't say "bring Bruce back" every single post get labeled as Martin supporters. There are less than 5 people on this board that support the guy. I was one of his supporters until this year. I gave him a pass the 1st two years because of what he was left with.

I loved having Pearl as our coach, he brought excitement, he brought a lot of pub to our program, gave us our 1st number 1 ranking, beat tons of top 10 teams, he made the UK fans up where I'm from fear and hate us, he did a lot for our program.

But let's not act like he brought us a final four or championship. You guys are acting like he's Coach K or Tom Izzo or something when he's not. He lost his fair share of games to some head scratchers too. Yet he did make the tourney, he laid an egg more times than not, except for our elite 8 run year. He had two years where he had a perfect road to the final 4 and almost lost to a 15 seed and got bailed out by Lofton then got upset the next round to WSU. He brought in a lot of thugs and was hit and miss with recruiting. He'd bring in a Chism and Harris and then get us a Swiperboy and Hall. Guys Pearl is not as great as everyone makes him out to be.

Do I want to keep Martin, hell no I want him gone. He is a mid major HC or assistant coach at best. Who do I want? BEN HOWLAND...3 final 4's make's Pearl's 1 little elite 8 laughable. His track record on getting top recruits and players in the NBA speaks for itself. I mean if you don't want the Kevin Love's, Russell Westbrook's, Jrue Holiday's etc. that's fine, I understand. Having a Tobias Harris once is alright I guess, but give me someone that's been to the final 4 3 times compared to someone that's only made it to the elite 8.

He never won a sec championship, but ok. We haven't won the SEC tourney since 1979.

Why on earth anyone thinks Pearl actually wants to come back to work for a bunch of a holes(Cheek in particular) who hung him out to dry is beyond me.

Whenever Pearl gets ready to coach again, he will have his choice of schools.

If Petrino can get recycled after the sh-t he has pulled, Pearl will no doubt be able to get some good offers.

I think his love for this university would trump that. IMO he still loves this program, this school and this town. If not why would he stick around? There are other jobs out there he coulda landed a whole lot better than hackney. IMO.

Or, and here's something that may boggle your mind, McRae and company who called that meeting want every player to bust their asses off and be held responsible. I remember a post game interview with McRae who even said that it isn't Martin's fault for the losses but the players. It was after the NC State game, I believe. You're just speculating because you have no damn clue as to what was said in that meeting.

They're a few people who believe that you should support a coach just because he's on the UT bench. It doesn't matter how average or boring his style of play , or how the end result every year is the same. They will support this coach to the end. If you don't know who I'm talking about, they're the ones always coming up with some BS numbers why UT will still make the tourney, and they hang on to the Virginia win like it's the sole reason why UT will get in. Watch how quickly they will turn on CM once he is fired.

The problem I see with this team is they don't play hard. Once yesterday when they went in that 2-3 zone everyone was just standing with their arms down and a guy drove right through for a lay up when it parted like the Red Sea.
