Ryan- zero he out coached cal last week. Can't argue that.
Izzo- - 1 title and over achieve each year
Hell if Self and Tubby can win titles at UK you probably could as well.
Cal racked up tons of wins in C-USA. Not impressive. Arkansas was the second best team in the SEC this year. And the SEC stunk!
And everyone wants to focus on 1 game, as if 8-seed KY didn't knock 2-seed WI out of the Final 4 last year. Short memories, I guess.
You can have Bo Ryan. I'll take Cal.
I like how people are acting the Kentucky team last year that was a rag tag team of misfits. Yeah they were an 8 seed and lost 11 games but they were still preseason number 1 and were more talented than most other teams. I will admit he got them to play better in the tournament but it's not like they were a team of lesser talent that he got to play above themselves.
Last year the Harrisons were really bad statiscally. Young didn't live up to the hype. Lee/Johnson were still developing. WCS was solid. Randle was inconsistent sometimes and struggled with team play. It was most certainly a team of misfits. The most impressive thing Cal usually does, is get a group of new guys to have good chemistry. It took him until tourney time to figure it out.

are you trying to suggest that Cal coaches them up? Blasphemy. He's clearly incapable. Failed everywhere he's been.

Right. Hey Randall we are relying on you so here's the ball. Go Score! If you can't pass to Harrison. He will hit the 3! There I'm coach Cal! Have fun with that calfanbill. BTW I love your Avi!
Maybe you should stick to football then. You're clueless on basketball. And I can't stand Cal. But he's a great coach. Too bad you don't understand the game enough to see that.
There's better coaches out there than Cal. Maybe not better recruiters but I hate how some UK fans act like he's the greatest coach to ever walk this earth.

Who on here is arguing Cal is the greatest ever? He's not even be the greatest UK coach right now. Every single UK fan on here, and most outside would agree there are a few guys ahead of Cal.
Most are just talking about right now I thought. People throw out Izzo, but I still don't buy it. It's K, Cal then it gets diluted. Maybe Izzo gets third outright, but that's as far as I can go. He's been to three Final Fours since '08. Cal has five and has been there 4 of the last 5 years. You can say Izzo does more with less but it's because Izzo consistently gets out recruited by Cal, K, Roy and Self. And I don't think I have to tell you this, but others need to know it: Newsflash, recruiting well is part of coaching. Even Izzo's championship team was a result of his best recruiting work, even if he barely traveled to get the team into E. Lansing.
He is the best dribble drive/kick out for 3 coach no doubt. Being able to hit free throws is key in Cals system. UK was a good free throw shooting team. His Memphis teams were terrible at the line.
