Top 7 Scorers for KenSucky will Declare for NBA Draft

Ryan- zero he out coached cal last week. Can't argue that.
Izzo- - 1 title and over achieve each year
Hell if Self and Tubby can win titles at UK you probably could as well.
Cal racked up tons of wins in C-USA. Not impressive. Arkansas was the second best team in the SEC this year. And the SEC stunk!

Agreed mostly with everything.

But his UMass and Memphis actually competed really well. That Memphis team was loaded and gave everyone a run for their money. Vacated or not because of Rose, they were one missed shot away from a title. **** Chalmers lol.

And everyone wants to focus on 1 game, as if 8-seed KY didn't knock 2-seed WI out of the Final 4 last year. Short memories, I guess.

You can have Bo Ryan. I'll take Cal.

Would Ryan be as successful with a UK roster? He runs a slow down, space it out with shooters style. Idk how good that would have been with Harrisons/Lyles. Karl was actually a good shooter that we didn't use, but obviously WCS was useless outside 5 feet.

Hmmm? Never seen that many leave a program in quite awhile. Kentucky will still be a top 10 in pre-season in 2016!

I like how people are acting the Kentucky team last year that was a rag tag team of misfits. Yeah they were an 8 seed and lost 11 games but they were still preseason number 1 and were more talented than most other teams. I will admit he got them to play better in the tournament but it's not like they were a team of lesser talent that he got to play above themselves.

Last year the Harrisons were really bad statiscally. Young didn't live up to the hype. Lee/Johnson were still developing. WCS was solid. Randle was inconsistent sometimes and struggled with team play. It was most certainly a team of misfits. The most impressive thing Cal usually does, is get a group of new guys to have good chemistry. It took him until tourney time to figure it out.

are you trying to suggest that Cal coaches them up? Blasphemy. He's clearly incapable. Failed everywhere he's been.

That can't possibly qualify as coaching!

Right. Hey Randall we are relying on you so here's the ball. Go Score! If you can't pass to Harrison. He will hit the 3! There I'm coach Cal! Have fun with that calfanbill. BTW I love your Avi!

I want to add that I don't think Cal is a bad coach. I do think one of the reasons he might not get as much respect as other coaches is that his teams usually have a lot more talent compared to the rest of the conference. Especially is conference usa, but then again the conference wasn't that bad when he got there. And it isn't his fault that Cincinnati,Marquette and Louisville left.

Maybe you should stick to football then. You're clueless on basketball. And I can't stand Cal. But he's a great coach. Too bad you don't understand the game enough to see that.

There's better coaches out there than Cal. Maybe not better recruiters but I hate how some UK fans act like he's the greatest coach to ever walk this earth.

Dude, nobody here is arguing that.

Being a troll is easy. Reading for comprehension takes some work.

Each school has different needs to be met by their coach. Our coach meets our needs in ways that his predecessors couldn't. Pitino was the same way. History has been kind to Rick, because he had that it factor this job requires, but I remember being a young girl and my dad continually discussing his inability to win close games. In fact the General line of thinking was under 90 seconds, if we weren't up 10, we'd lose.

The problem here isn't that Kentucky fans are acting like Cal is the greatest coach to ever walk the earth. It's that the overwhelming majority of haters in this thread think the only thing a head basketball coach does is recruit and then coach within the games. As if there's nothing done on off days or the time from getting them on campus until the first game begin. You know, the period where about 75% of coaching actually takes place.

No one can justifiably defend Cal as the best in game coach. But that makes up very little coaching overall. The haters are refusing to understand or come to grips with that fact. Someone even wanted to use last year against him since he had so many freshmen that were talented. As if they just walk on campus and are the best things around. It took Cal quite a long time to figure it out, but he finally brought the team together. This year's team, full of NBA talent from beginning to end played the most unselfish ball on both ends of the court and really bought into the college style. To act like that's not GREAT coaching is asinine.

and the really funny part is that you make that accusation towards Kentucky fans when almost every single one of the Kentucky fans defending Cal in this thread just gave props to K as the greatest ever only five days ago.

Who on here is arguing Cal is the greatest ever? He's not even be the greatest UK coach right now. Every single UK fan on here, and most outside would agree there are a few guys ahead of Cal.

Most are just talking about right now I thought. People throw out Izzo, but I still don't buy it. It's K, Cal then it gets diluted. Maybe Izzo gets third outright, but that's as far as I can go. He's been to three Final Fours since '08. Cal has five and has been there 4 of the last 5 years. You can say Izzo does more with less but it's because Izzo consistently gets out recruited by Cal, K, Roy and Self. And I don't think I have to tell you this, but others need to know it: Newsflash, recruiting well is part of coaching. Even Izzo's championship team was a result of his best recruiting work, even if he barely traveled to get the team into E. Lansing.

He is the best dribble drive/kick out for 3 coach no doubt. Being able to hit free throws is key in Cals system. UK was a good free throw shooting team. His Memphis teams were terrible at the line.

The Flintstones ain't around anymore. Izzo can get his teams there still, but not enough talent at the end of the day to win the big one. Honestly, watching his teams, while well-coached, against UNC and Duke the past decade has been about like watching an NBA D-League team taking on the Golden State Warriors. Just flat outclassed every time.

Strangely enough we actually were a lot better than I expected. Outside of Lee/WCS/Johnson most of our guys were good from the line.

Josh can't, or won't read. He just launches into a diatribe assuming the worst. He's close to my very short ignore list.
