Sure. Been reading about it.
I agree its serious and an abuse of their authority. People shouting out treason though seem only to be concerned that Trump was misled and they are insulted by the fact that it insults him. I just don't see it as at that level.
Begs the question about what else he misled us on? What did this guy know about the alleged Syrian gas attacks that resulted in Trump airstrikes? Everyone in the world was saying Assad gased his own people. Why should I believe that narrative right now?Sure. Been reading about it.

Interesting...
Take Trump out of it. Put Obama or Bush 43 or Clinton or any other POTUS in that position. Treason is a stretch, yes, but lying to the Constitutionally elected Commander in Chief about combat forces in a country he ordered them out of certainly is illegal. Or damn well should be conspiracy as a minimum. And heads need to roll.
The problem is, when the military starts misleading the civilian leadership and openly defying the orders they are lawfully bound to obey, there's a serious problem. The POTUS wasn't asking them to napalm a village or commit war crimes. He told them to draw down and they have a duty to follow those orders because he is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
You really don't want a military out there that decides on their own which orders they want to obey. Once that happens, discipline is out the window and rogue elements with that kind of power is not something we need in this country.

I agree. I just don't think this rises to the level of treason just because it happened to be Trump, which is what some here appear to be saying.

There’s a head chief in every group. I wonder who the head of the “Deep State” is? Would it be someone familiar? Would we be shocked at who it was? Is it like the Syndicate in the M:I movies? It’s all very exciting to think about.
With friends like this, Trump didn't need enemies.

Random question: are you an isolationist?
That is true. I just wonder how we approach going from essentially propping up two sovereign nations for 20 years to complete withdrawal. Do you just bite the bullet, admit we ****ed up, take the L and go home? We shouldn’t have been there in the first place, and now I feel like we’re stuck in a continuous cycle of cleaning **** up.Being opposed to the never ending wars in Afghanistan and Iraq doesn't mean someone is an isolationist.
