Man, people on here need to stop and think for a bit. Why does Deboer leave Washington, a team he just made it to the CFP final with 4 days ago, for Bama? And why would Norvell leave a team he just coached to an undefeated regular season and a few votes shy of the CFP playoff for Bama? None of these two have any reason to leave their respective spots, especially to follow the coattails of Saban where they’ll be scrutinized by everyone for the slightest mishaps.
If it’s a big name coach, it’s going to be someone that’s in a current position who has had success, but due to the culture or recruiting or lack of NIL Boosters, etc., of the current place, is never going to make it to a natty. So they’ll see Bama and say, “sure I’ll be scrutinized, but I have a much easier shot there than I do here” (think why BK left ND for LSU). That’s why my money is on someone like James Franklin or possibly even a fired NFL coach like Vrabel who wants to continue coaching, have some success, then head back to the pros. I’ll watch slice of Humble Pie if it’s Deboer or Norvell, but I just don’t see it happening.
