Trade Deadline/Rumors thread

That lineup actually looks really good. If you take Upton out of Tropicana Field you'd expect his numbers to go up.

Every scout says he will blow up once he leaves Tampa. They said he's basically depressed playing there.

Home: .171/.250/.312 (6 homers/14 RBI)
Away: .279/.354/.484 (10 homers/40 RBI)

That's not a coincidence.

Plus, there is no doubt he will light it up next year during his contract year. He'll have a J.D. Drew 2004 type year.

Bourn > Upton > Willingham

Wouldn't want anyone else. I didn't include Quentin because he won't be traded.

Big time prospect haul for Seattle, but the Tigers got a very underrated pitcher in Fister and a pretty good reliever in Pauley.

Detroit had to make a move. They are built to win right now. Waiting on prospects would be wasting all the money they are spending at this moment.

I like Upton because I think he'll explode, but I can dig it.

Agree. They have a great lineup and the central is there for the taking. If they can get consistency from Scherzer, and Porcello can keep rolling like he has in July, they can be a sleeper for the WS.

Sounds like the Yankees really want Ubaldo. I don't think I'm alone in saying that I'd rather keep the prospects.

Tigers top prospect, 20 year old Jacob Turner, is starting tonight against the Angels, but will be sent back down once Fister gets to town.

Im still not sold on jackson but I get the thought behind it.

I don't understand furcal at all.

• One exec who has been speaking with the Rockies and Reds suggests that if that swap happens, it could be a larger deal than just Homer Bailey, Travis Wood and high-end prospects for Jimenez. He said he believes the teams have discussed an expanded version that could include someone the likes of Seth Smith, because the Reds also have been targeting controllable bats.
