Considering LSU made it there last year and basically none of the big players (Standford, Uconn, Notre Dame, etc) didn't, I believe it is possible to see us in the final four with the team we have. This is a team that has an elite scorer, good size that has played together and solid point guards makes me believe it is possible to make it to the final four. A 5-6 point guard that everyone underestimated, lead LSU to the championship this year. Why not us next year?Do u think we have a final four roster?
Lsu had a better overall roster, and more athletic players all over.Considering LSU made it there last year and basically none of the big players (Standford, Uconn, Notre Dame, etc) didn't, I believe it is possible to see us in the final four with the team we have. Wait, this girl is 6'1" and averages 16 rebounds a game? Sign her immediately. Not to speak of the 16 pts. Averaged a double double? I know it's BYU but why have I not heard about her? Can she play any D at all? Ever shoot 3s?
With a healthy and fit TK, I think the 4-5 grp of TK, Jill and Karo will be very good. Add a young post for extra backup, and I'm really happy with our frontcourt. Lots of versatily and experience.
However, TK is a big and important question mark in my mind. Has she ever been completely cleared? Is she able to fully condition again? Just defensively as a presence, she adds a ton, obviously. But I'll be honest, she frustrated me alot towards the end of her jr. season, before the illness, for exactly the issues discussed ad nauseum above. I have zero question about TK's want to and dedication and I'm sure she'll work on all those areas for one last go round. I'll feel better about next season when I hear there's real progress being made towards that end. A healthy TK playing well would be huge for us.
I don’t understand why people think SC will be a challenger for the SEC title next season, nobody in the country lost as much to graduation. This is a rebuilding year at SC. Yes they will still be a good to very good team, but there will be 7-10 losses next season as they rebuild for 2024-25. My guess is they will lose 5-6 conference games plus 2-3 OOC games (they still play UCONN, MD, Stanford, ND etc etc). As for the possible transfer in players, I believe Morrow will not be at SC (I actually hope not) because that system is not conducive to any one player being in a position to put up anywhere close to the number of shots she takes (23+/game). PaoPao I think is a strong possibility to land at SC however along with a solid backup center to fill in when Cardoso is off the floor.I think Kellie may certainly want/need a huge pickup at the guard position, but maybe, just maybe she likes the experience and cohesion of her returning players (who will be upperclassman as well). Maybe she doesn’t want to recruit over players who know the system and is really waiting for 2024. We will have plenty of talent. Enough to beat LSU or SC? Will be tough but stranger things have happened. We are certainly not in “sky falling mode” with our current team which seems to be the obsession of several posters. They will have a solid team on the floor each night. In fact, I think we will be a much better team next year for the reasons stated above. Even without Horston.
Wells is a huge upgrade for UT, she will cause problems for defenses. And it seems people are not giving Destinee enough credit. She is a tremendous shooter that can do it a variety of ways. As much as I have defended Walker here, Destinee's offense is a huge upgrade and will help break defenses down due to the unpredictability of who will be the scorer. Her ability to be 40%+ from the 3-point range and also be able to drive and penetrate has the potential to transform our offense. I know that she might not be as effective in the SEC. However, we don't need her to do near the numbers she had at Belmont and still be an offensive threat that will have to be taken seriously by defenses.
you obviously didn't watch Jillian's perimeter defense...she moves very well on D for a 6'4"'er
I am sorry you didn't get to see her playOne of us didn't watch her play defense. Or one of us didn't know what we were watching when we watched her play defense. She is a poor perimeter defender. Bottom line. She gets lost very easily. She reacts late. She is out of rotation. Her foot speed is solid for her size. Not great, but solid.
