Transfer Portal 22-23

I think we're just trying to judge TK's current level of participation. Ya'll are making it so personal again. It's not. Nosey and selfish, but not personal. I just want to finally see her on the darn court again as I'm sure she does too. That's all. Please don't make it more.

It's in-bounds to me to comment on a player's conditioning, and added weight is part of that. Looks to me like TK has added a few pounds, but not a lot - certainly not enough to worry about her conditioning come November. Without her normal activity over the winter, it makes sense she would put on a few pounds. i'm sure she will be in condition in 6 months.

I'm not understanding your logic here, Darth. Aneesah Morrow was on a crappy Depaul team in a conference that's worse than the ACC. She had to put up big numbers because she was the only reliable option. How is Spear's situation any different? Both were focal points for opposing defenses.

Even Rickea was in a similar position at Miss State.

Please help me understand.

If there's one thing no intelligent person could ever understand, it's DarthVol (aka DirtBall).

Re: Having multiple players who averaged around 20 ppg on the same roster combining for huge point totals, that's not the main goal. Only one can shoot the ball at a time, so they'll have to share. To me, the main value is having several reliable scorers in case one is having an off night (or hampered by illness, foul trouble, or short-term injury). If all are hitting on the same night, great...but there are multiple options if that isn't happening.

“You want to understand Darth “? Good luck with that ! 😁. Even with FACTS .., it does not matter to He/She ! Did you read that there was a concern that vol fans would be disappointed with Spears …., What a joke. Darth worried that a vol fan might be disappointed 😢

The best thing to do with all the NEGA VOLS…
Don’t comment on their posts ! Let them talk with themselves… they’re the only one’s listening anyway!

Or, better yet, put them on ignore. This board is much more pleasant that way.

Have you seen her in person? I have and she looks fantastic and has added muscle.

I have not, Meeks - just pictures. Thanks for letting me know she looks fantastic. I'll trust your eyes over those pics. As I said, given that we are 6 months from the opening of the season, this is much ado about not much.

You saying Spear ain’t all that? Just say it then. Put it out there. I think she is the bomb, let’s see.

Again, you never look longer than now, and your expectations are all in front of us, you never lay it out for a season, makes you seem so smart, go figure.
No matter what a fan thinks of Spear, time will tell if she is good player or not. First of all give her a chance to prove herself. Based upon stats, she has potential to be good. Let's hope that potential shows up at game time.

Although it'd be nice to have another post player, I think that ship might've sailed.
Time to focus on 2024 and 2025 classes. Can always try to pilfer from the transfer portal next year. Let's get some top HS talent...

The only thing I don't like about the "just ignore them" strategy, is that (1) I'd hate to think people would stop by this forum thinking "Oh I'm going to ask about so-and-so" or whatever, only to be subjected to a tidal wave of noxiously derisive crap that stinks the place up, or (2) I actally kind of dislike the idea of participating on a board that's actively hostile or adversarial to the thing I'm following. If there's a crowd of hostile people all around me, I'd rather like to know about it.

And also, you know, point (3), just saying, if someone's gonna stomp around saying "I can say what I want," and then proceed to take a dump on everything, well, frankly, then anyone else should be free to tell them off right back.

The trickster archetype is a character type in storytelling that is often associated with disruption, mischief, and humor. Tricksters are known for their cunning, wit, and unpredictability, which often challenge the status quo and cause unexpected events in stories.

On our board the trickster is not really concerned with the team, nor their play - only mischief for the board members who give the role its existance. (and I submit that social boards usually have such characters).

I am with you 100%.

i see both sides about ignoring people. but personally, it has certainly made the forum more enjoyable for me to converse with rational objective fans. negativity is a powerful thing, and i do my best to deflect it when having the option.
I never put anyone on ignore. Just don't see the point. It's okay for people to have different opinions. And when people are being snarky a-holes, it's fun to ridicule them.
