Transfer Portal 22-23

Actually portal recruiting moves at warp speed in most cases so it will not be long until a decision is made.
Within the next three weeks rosters will be changed immensely for many programs…For the school I follow, SC (not my Alma Mater…went to West Point, have lived in SC 30 years now), If all the seniors leave, we would have 6 open scholarships, not sure how that will unfold either. A lot will change soon for many teams.

Next season is going to be really interesting, for everyone.

gotta be honest. i am still shocked jordan left given all these other players choosing to stay at various schools. wishing her the best though. it definitely makes our guard needs very important now. there's a reason powell played a lot AND miles entered the game against VA tech. we NEEDED their speed. i am hopeful we can snag a couple of very quick guards and a big post player.

Hmm that assessment said Wells struggled against bigger and better competition. They did rate her 10th though. Going to have to look into her stats.

If you watched TN play we have need for 3 guards who can play so Wells and few others all of you want will be fine. Tess is not answer at 2 spot to go to final 4 yes great role player off bench. Miles and Wynn you are not getting to final 4 with them as well sorry Powell as backup sure. You need great guard play get this next year with Jackson and our bigs already now your top 5 team easily. BS. She had a couple of poor shooting games as the focal point of the defense, but overall she more than held her own against the ranked/power 5 teams they played this season...

Louisville: 20 points (7-10, 1-1 three, 5-6 FT), 4 assists 2 to's
Iowa: 9 points (4-17, 0-4 three, 1-2 FT) 5 assists, 2 to's
Villanova: 16 points (5-10, 1-2 three, 5-5 FT) 3 assists, 7 to's
Georgia: 12 points (3-7, 3-7 three, 3-4 FT) 7 assists, 3 to's
Georgia Tech (1): 7 points (3-13, 1-6 three, 0-0 FT) 6 assists,, 3 to's
Georgia Tech (2): 15 points (5-15, 0-5 three, 5-5 FT) 5 assists, 2 to's

Just think what she can do with Jackson at 4 and our bigs which she had none of this at Belmont. Nice to have to beat just one player. If Justin gets there at 3 with her ability to shoot I believe Mrs Wells will be just fine. In CHRIST Alone

We don’t have any big time bigs yet, unless u are talking about getting some through the portal. But we have ok bigs but no game changers.

I just hope any guards we are able to bring in arent shorter than 6’0. Ive had enough of these short cant defend or shoot over their opponents.

I think folks are making way too much out of how tall a player is in the point guard or shooting guard spot. our guards have been larger and not able to consistently keep smaller guards in front of them for years at this point with our man-to-man defense. to me, quickness and skill are the two qualities we need next season. however, my biggest wish is for players who are relentless, tough as nails, and fearless. the lady vols need to build a team of talent AND players who have the mental toughness to win the big games.

Wells torched Oregon and torched us last year in the round of 32. She also gave Louisville this year all they wanted, so that's horrible assessment. We definitely need her. She would be a great pick up
Preach. She also played well against the other p-5 schools and put up decent 20-30 points games throughout much of the season. The Georgia game is a good indicator to what she can do. Only had 12 points, but also had 7 assists to 3 turnovers against arguably one of the best defensive teams in the country and she did not have near the support players at Belmount that she would have at Tennessee. This would be a huge pickup if the Lady Vols Can sign her.1680146374112.png

I would take 13.2 pt and 5 assists per game at the point guard spot in a new york second.

I wonder what your thoughts are on Michelle Marciniac or Kara Lawson or Shannon Bobbett? None of them were 6 foot, but they were pretty goods guards at Tennessee.

The game has changed over the years, I’m not saying a Pg has to be 6ft but maybe 5’8 minimum, like the size of Deja Kelly.

I’m not saying a player can’t be successful, so would u be ok with having 2 5’6 guards starting and think we will have a successful season?
why are you assuming powell would start if we brought in wells? there’s no logic in that. powell would be her backup.
