It’s not just height for a post, if they are 6’3 and athletic I can take that.I would like to see the LV's garner a post who is 6'5 + and another guard ( As some have stated ,Donarski would be best fit as another guard ).I do not know who would be the best post candidate.Maybe Clara DaSilva,6-6,from Portugal ( plays on Spain's National team ) can be talked into reclassifying ( if she is academically in shape to reclassify ) for 2023 .....that would be an outstanding solution to a big POST .
DaSilva has no eligibility left. I think she declared for the draft.I would like to see the LV's garner a post who is 6'5 + and another guard ( As some have stated ,Donarski would be best fit as another guard ).I do not know who would be the best post candidate.Maybe Clara DaSilva,6-6,from Portugal ( plays on Spain's National team ) can be talked into reclassifying ( if she is academically in shape to reclassify ) for 2023 .....that would be an outstanding solution to a big POST .
You just keep reeling about needing big guards. We just got a very good 5-6 guard this morning that will make an immediate impact in Destinee wells. Crystal Dangerfield, Moriah Jefferson, Destiny Henderson, Kelsy Mitchell, Kelsey Plum, Courtney vandersloot, destiny slocum, Kayla pointer, Erica Wheeler and the list goes on that are all guards that are between 5-5-and 5-8. In that list you have scoring champions and assist champions and all other ranges of skill set yet you want a point guard that is at least 6 foot. That makes sense if they got a great skillset as a point guard. The point guard that committed today has the same type of skillset as the aforementioned players with both scoring and assisting and has 3 years college experience in that position. People keep talking about wanting to post our point guards up. Really? We will once again have one of the biggest teams in the country with most of this team being 6 foot and over. You are picking the best 5’6 or so guards that make it to the WNBA, so tell me what 5’6 guard can we get in the portal that will be on a WNBA roster like u are saying?
You do build a culture on feelings, and you ruin one by ignoring them. That's why I want one more guard and a very young post, and no more. I want this next team lean and sharp. We know if KJH has lots of toys she is going to try to play with all of them. I want the roster tight and the lineup free of experimentation. Let Puckett, Darby, Justine, and Strip either earn their time in the starting lineup or be awesome backups and role players which I believe all can.We don’t build a team in feelings, we need to build a winner, so if we get better players maybe some come leave if they want.
I'm familiar w the list of successful unsized guards. And no one in their right mind has ever suggested posting the PGs. The reason some want a taller, longer guard is to, you know, guard on the perimeter. We now have 2 undersized PGs. Makes sense to go after a taller SG. Wouldn't turn down a short superstar, but ideally, the next piece in the puzzle needs to be a taller guard who can shoot and lockdown defend. You just keep reeling about needing big guards. Horston to WNBAI'd love to see us add speedy athletic players who can shoot. At times I feel we play so slow, plus seeing the twitchiness and shooting of the gaurds of VT was frustrating but impressive.
With Rickea coming back, and Tamari returning healthy. Inside scoring will be easy and if Jordy comes back that's even better. But then we need more outside shooting around them.
I don't know our interest level or connection or not. But I like these players
- happy we landed Destinee Wells shot well this year from deep and at the line.
- Jayda Curry would be a nice get. Shooting range.
- Lexi Donarski great defnseive player with 3 pt range.
- Taina Mair, good passing skills and shoot.
So U think she’s in Kelsey Plums league? She’s here now so of course I’ll root for her, but I don’t think this is that big of a deal like people are saying, but only time will tell. Hopefully we can try to get Donarski and Jefferson. You just keep reeling about needing big guards. We just got a very good 5-6 guard this morning that will make an immediate impact in Destinee wells. If i had a choice between Donarski, jefferson, and wells and could only choose one i’d choose wells. I’ve watched her play for years. That girl can hoop and would start on majority of the lineups in america. So U think she’s in Kelsey Plums league? She’s here now so of course I’ll root for her, but I don’t think this is that big of a deal like people are saying, but only time will tell. Hopefully we can try to get Donarski and Jefferson.
