I just fear Gardner is Anosike 2.0 and can't get it done in the SEC. Stewart, Wahab, Mitchell and Powell, give UT 2 or 3 of these kids, please
I like his rebounding #s, but he’s a low efficiency high volume scorer. W the pieces we have coming in that doesn’t seem ideal. If he’s ok scaling his role back significantly and being more of an opportunistic scorer then ok, but like I said don’t know how easy of a transition that isI understand that concern, but Gardner had double doubles in games against Houston and Memphis this year. He played competition well above what Anosike played.

He plays below the rim for sure. His highlight vid must show at least 100 made field goals and 5 are dunks - mostly on breakaways. He blocked 32 shots in 3 years.
Anoskie looked like he could handle the ball in his highlights though. Gardner is playing better competition and will probably be better than EJ if he comes here, but I'd still rather have Wahab or HarrarYea, but his agility and ball handling skills are good for a guy that size.
Watch this and tell me how this compares to Anosike.
I’m not saying he is a must-get transfer, but he has some game.
