He wasn't a 5 star one & done prospect so I'm not too shocked he struggled against the SEC competition. Arkansas finished 2nd in conference and did just make the Elite Eight and A&M despite not having a great record was the 4th best scoring defense in the SEC this year.

I can see Powell in his Jr or Sr year being one of those guys that absolutely cannot miss from deep. Like that one guy from Colgate two years ago, every Iowa guard, or (maybe a reach) JJ reddick.

Your first sentence is so hilarious. 18-22 year-olds in this day and age are far from robots. A coach can't flip a switch for them. Yes sometimes coaches can break thru but this idea that if they can't then it is the coaches fault is ridiculous. Geno refuses to even coach players that need him to flip their switch.

Can I get a summary of what transfers were pursuing and who we feel good about. A lot of names out there and hard for me to keep them all straight.

We’re in Wahab’s final 6. And we’ve spoke to Gardner and there’s mutual interest.

There are others we’ve reached out to but have no idea what their interests are.

For those worried about Gardner-Anosike comparison. Put it this way, for the 2019-2020 conference rankings, when Anosike played, the AAC ranked 7th out of 32 conferences (SEC was 6th) and the NEC was 29th out of 32. So the level of competition is night and day difference between where Anosike and Gardner played every night.

I'd say the two most likely "gets" for transfers are Jayden Gardner and Tyreke Key. I think Patrick Stewart is one we could also land, but we may be waiting to see about if some other guys up the list are interested (Powell)

Could be wrong but I'd say the staff has Powell and the Georgetown big as their main guys.

Would I take him? Definitely. But not in lieu of some other players. That’s also assuming there’s some fire to the BHH smoke. And I’ve still got Walker penciled in as a backup there. I guess I’m also unclear on how many were able to bring in. Keon, Springer, Pons, Fulk, EJ, Gaines, and Pember are all off the books. So 7 open spots? 2 recruits incoming. So we can add 5? 6 if Walker is out?

Hell yeah, I love Captain Piccard especially as Prof. Xavier in X-Men. Just messing with u, man. But it's Parker not Patrick. I've done it, too

We have 13 scholarships for basketball (as of today) here's who is counting against them:

Bailey
Uros
JJJ
Olivier
Santi
Walker
Keon (technically hasn't declared yet)

So 7 accounted for total, leaving us with 6 spots. 2 are taken by Chandler & Mashack already, so that leaves us with 4 spots as of today. There is a chance that Walker could stay, but I think he'd have to put in some work with the staff to make it happen.

In lieu of who?

The easiest way to count it is 13 scholarships available (Anosike, Pons & Fulk don’t count regardless)...right now counting the 2 signees we have on roster:
Chandler, Vescovi, Bailey, Mashack, James, Walker, ORN, Plavsic

So that’s room for 5 more as it stands, 6 if Walker departs as expected.

It would be good if we knew for sure what Fulky was going to do. Any guess on when he will decide?

Big man transfer may not want to come here if he thinks Fulky will keep him from getting minutes.

I guess I didn’t realize we had that many spots. I’d be interested in this guy, especially if Walker goes
