Remove the obvious injury issue from the equation, what is Bru’s draft projection? He doesn’t appear to have freakish speed / quickness. Great college receiver in the mold of Juan Jennings but seems like the NFL prefers a different style of WR?
Bru, fully healthy, was probably a 3rd round WR. That is his ceiling if he proves he's healthy. He'll be old for a 2025 rookie (turns 25 well before his first NFL game), will have injury concerns. For his size, he has a lot of straight-line speed. Physically, he has a lot of Jauan Jennings characteristics. Pre-injury, he was much faster than JJ, but had a similar physical style and ability. Post-injury, his speed remains to be seen.

I view him as more of a 5th round NFL pick (at best). He has proved to be predominantly a possession receiver at the college level that is a strong and willing blocker. Bru is a solid player, and I agree with your comparison to Jauan Jennings. However, IMO Jennings showed more fight and heart than Bru. I hope Bru returns for 2024 and changes my opinion on that front. We could use another Jennings-style player at WR in 2024.

Also, this assessment isn't a knock on Bru. There aren't a lot of wide receivers with the fight of Jauan Jennings. Jennings is an old-school wide receiver. While he doesn't have the stats of these other guys, his style is in the mold of Anquan Boldin or Hines Ward. All those guys are beasts.

Yeah, if he leaves this year, not fully healthy and unable to perform at the combine or at Pro Day, 5th round is probably even optimistic.

I'd kill for another dog like Jauan. Guys like him don't necessarily win with athleticism. They win with fight and determination.

Joe needed a Jauan type this year. I knw Joe wasn't perfect but he didn't have that guy he could go to when he needed a play made.

My projection of a 5th round draft ceiling for him is assuming he has a fully healthy 2024 season at UT. He'd be an undrafted free agent if he went pro this year.
