Staes would be a better player. We need difference makers.

Staes and Davis would be a great one two punch.

There's just the potential Dingle wants to commit I'm not sure how you say hold off. I'm with Trippie, take the first to commit. Light a fire under Staes if you have to. Then go out and find some type of potential HS contributor to add to the class. Need another body if you can't get two portal guys.

now weezer acc to VN you dont take someone just because they show an aptitude for starting in the SEC. they may not buy into our culture or be interested in our glaring needs on the line, or our top notch facilities, or our award winning nil.

Not sure how AP reasons that there isn't room for all 3. We were going to take a portal TE when Echols was committed. Davis wasn't going anywhere. With Echols gone, you take two portal guys and you're still going to have 3.

Now, if he wants to argue that Staes and Dingle don't want to go to the same school, then that's a different argument, but I think we need two more. And both those guys have multiple years of eligibility.

Davis has struggled to stay healthy. If he gets hurt then you're one more injury away from Browder taking meaningful snaps. Maybe the staff trusts him and is fine with him being the third option, but we were always recruiting like we were taking two, so I don't know what it matters if they are both portal kids with multiple years.

Yeah, I get that, but I'd think there is just as good a chance that Davis is "the guy" if he's healthy. We can and have shown an ability to feature two TEs in this offense. Just one of Staes OR Dingle coming doesn't ensure either will be the guy, so competition is going to take place. But both coming does likely ensure one of them (and Davis) is the odd man out.

This is shaping up to be a very disappointing portal season. Hope things change before we end up at the top of every sports writers’ “CFB Portal Biggest Losers” list.

Yeah it is, I mean 3,000 kids hit the portal over the last 2 weeks and almost all of them have found new homes. And all of them were Elite talent and we didn't pursue any of them.

Oh wait....
