You guys do realize we have a staff that doesn't have that it factor hire? Someone that will get recruits attention and let us recruit and compete with Alabama and FL. TT is it! This is what we need as of now. Not saying someone else could come in and do fine but this is by far the best choice. I'm tired of being at the bottom I don't know about you guys.

I'm sure the contract could be arranged to our benifit if anything goes down.

Yeah, we need a guy that is supposedly in trouble with the NCAA. That really brings the "it" factor.

Since everyone is mentioning Trooper as a possible replacement, I asked my Auburn buddies if they are still hearing what they were told a couple months ago.

What they were told was Malzahn wanted to keep TT but the school would not let him because he was going to be the fall guy for the current investigation into AU recruiting (remember them talking about him and Luper being taken off the recruiting trail?), well, apparently AU said everything was done independently by Trooper. They said there is a reason TT hasn't got a job but Luper has now and the rumor is TT might be looking at a show cause penalty in his future. They all expect him to try to get a NFL gig.

But, TN can hire him before any sanctions, IF the individual sanctions come (it is the ncaa ya know), you can get rid of him with no harm done, just put it in his contract of no XTRA towel waving while at TN.

I think we have seen the last of TT. No NFL job coming, IMO--Troop isn't a coach--RECRUITER. And Cheater. He may surface at smu in 4-5 years. Maybe Cam can get him on at Carolina as a towel waver.

Good one...not even. That's why I explained how the contract would be in our favor if anything happened there bud.

If CBJ can't get a reasonable contract don't pick em up. Pretty simple.

The barn hung trooper's a$$ to dry, in other words.

Why take the risk of bringing him in with the program already in the state it is in. If we have to replace him months down the road of he does something against NCAA rules while he is here, we're just digging a deeper hole. Just not worth it.

Hubbs on Trooper

From Trooper's camp this afternoon, they say they aren't waiting on anything from the NCAA and that there is nothing hanging over his head at all. He just is being selective in his choices because his son is a rising senior and Auburn owes Taylor 450k each of the next two years so he doesn't have to jump on a job out there.

I'm trying to verify that to be the case, but the Taylor camp says there is no NCAA cloud or issue surrounding Trooper.

What if he gets hit with a show cause 10 days before signing day, wouldn't that be a problem? could this possibly wreck our recruiting class for that year? is it worth the risk? :hi:

I think it's well worth it. Like I said before he will be on thin ice he knows if he messes up his career is basically garbage. I think he would follow the rules and be really successful on top of that he wouldn't want to risk not being able to coach his son. Who would risk that? JMO

The problem is not what he would do at Tennessee, but what he did at Auburn.

I underrrstanndd... i'm saying...get the contract where if anything goes down on him CBJ has the option to boot him. Then we are golden.

How can we be golden if, lets say, 5 top recruits are coming here because of Trooper, then suddenly, 10 days before signing day we have to get rid of him, wouldn't those 5 recruits look around and sign elsewhere?

just asking

so TT is the only one on that AU staff that bought the BCSNC. where TT has messed up before it's much easier for all the other coaches at AU to blame him.

yes. however what's done is done. you can't change the past. and he should have been given the opportunity to be OC anyways. i mean look who we ended up with as OC dave clawson. i mean it really couldn't have got any worse than clawson.

Yeah we know you tried to destroy the team to advance your career last time you were in Knoxville but we'll just let that slide.

Also why haven't any teams made him their play caller if he deserved the job at UT? Everyone must be missing out

Possibility....... what if we sign 5 five star recuits and he stays and does it consistent for atleast four + years....Program changer.

What if we hire some unknown and takes four or five years to get to that level? Or what if he doesn't prove it and we have to take another chance on someone then take more time.

He's proven he gets the job done anywhere he goes. Recruits love him, fans love him. He's the best option right now hands down. "Ifff" the contract is right.

I still think he is not worth the risk, JMO.

But I accept that I could be wrong. :hi:
