Trooper Taylor/ncaa show cause

I saw where troop was owed 450k for each of the next 2 years. So my question is what would we have to pay him to get him? Wouldn't anything we pay him be deducted from the 450k? I don't think there's anyway we could pay him over 450k so why work for no more money? Unless he just wants to go ahead and get back in the game.

I am sure he has a clause that states he must actively pursue employment etc. Plus you sit out 2 years, how is that going to help you get to the next level or be hired after those two years?

Trooper is one of the best recruiters in the nation...He is better at this than Jay will ever be! He brings in the 5*s.

another story from the Auburn camp was that TT was cutting the OC's throat every chance he got and was telling recruits that he was gone at seasons end and this is why Gene pulled him off the trail.

I always heard that Chavis and Trooper did not get along and that Chavis was willing to leave, if Fulmer promoted Trooper in to Cut's position.

From that, I had an idea that Trooper would back stab people, in order to move up in position.

However; I do not believe that he does any recruiting violations. I believe that he uses high energy to relate to the young black athletes and that he ALSO uses negative rectuiting to steer them away from a school that they may be considering.

The negative recruiting came in to play, when Gerald Jones helped him recruit Gabe Wright to Aubutn.... while talking negatively about U.T.

Sorry I upset you and no these aren't rumors. I just don't want a cancer in our program, and as far as being a donor and silver club, if the university can afford to lose 10k donors then you're right, I won't be missed, nor will my season ticket cost or my parking pass.

If you want a chest bumping, NCAA violation waiting to happen and our program put on probation for this clowns antics then have at it. I want no part of Trooper Taylor....That's my opinion and mine alone and you are entitled to yours as well.

As far as rumors, just hide and watch what goes down with Auburn...

Lol, I'm not jumping on your case but isn't it a bit hypocritical to denounce someone for the way you feel they would appear as a representative of the University while representing yourself with the slogan "just here for the beer" and with that avatar?

I tend to agree with you on some level actually....although if there is no real drawback in an NCAA standpoint, then I don't see the negatives in hiring TT...the recruits love him and we need a few coaches on staff that bring back some excitement.

so where is this hammer auburn is about to be hit with?

USC Took theirs like it was water. osu missed one year in a bowl game and is back.

the NCAA is losing power and the Miami case proves it.

I agree let's put our hat in the ring...it's like we've been on probation the past 5-6 years anyways.

You know what I meant.....bowl bans, heavy scholarship reductions...we have nothing NCAA induced to speak of.

the reduction in official visits affected UT this year. We also can't provide tickets for unofficials

any further infractions could really hurt. We can't take a chance

We have had a two year bowl ban and havent signed a full class in 2 years. We accomplished that without the NCAA's help. Time to hire some coaches that can get it done either clean or dirty. We are no worse off if we get caught.

Do we have a choice at this point....eventually **** will hit the fan if we don't see a turn around and that's fact. We can't have Neyland at 70-75% filled too much longer. If this staff can't get it done things will get very ugly for UT football...no doubt in my mind.

so your solution is to cheat and possibly nuke the program worse than it already is just for some potential short-term gain? Solid plan

There are many good choices out there. We will get a good RB coach and be fine. Just hope he has strong ties to the south for recruiting purposes

Thank you!

No, and as I said earlier in the thread "if there are no real NCAA drawbacks then why not hire Trooper"

All I was saying about throwing caution to the wind, referred to what happens if the current coaching staff doesn't succeed. I am behind them 100% but if by chance nothing happens I believe without doubt that we will see huge overturn in leadership and a win at all cost mentality...because at that point it will be a necessity.

How bout 40 to 50% empty cause that's coming. Maybe this year.

Ok ok we will do it your way, while the rest of the world cheats.......we will do it the "honerable" way. Enjoy your 6-6 seasons.

college football recruiting is like playing the game of thrones. Doing things the honorable way results one's head being lopped off. We need a cutthroat recruiter to bring in the best atheletes and trooper gets things done. Keep a tab on him if need be to ensure compliance but bottom line is we need a recruiter of his caliber. You dont have to recruit clean to stay within ncaa guidelines.

WTH does my slogan or avatar have to do with the hiring of a coach? I normally don't post here but read, so how am I misrepresenting UT with either? I'm not being beat down by the NCAA for either nor am I seeking employment with a major university. Plus my avatar is TAME compared to most here.

While I understand your reply as to Trooper, but your first paragraph was nonsense.

So you are here. All I've heard is crickets
