Trump and Money Laundering

How would I disprove something when none of you have given the parties involved, the motive or the means?

Just like in court, the burden of proof is on the prosecutor. You all are the ones making the charge of money laundering, not me.

Yeah. Too bad we're not in court.

Are you aware that the whole thread is based on articles stating the Brits are looking into his golf club investments? Maybe you should ask somebody on Manchester United's fansite for specifics.

I didn't claim to have specifics. You responded to my post that said a) the Brits were investigating something that happened before he was president and 2) these kinds of allegations have been swirling around him for years (one example, he allegedly paid way over market for concrete to build Trump Tower). If you want to dispute it, dispute it.

Ever heard of the Mob?

Ever heard of the Mob?

Yes. That's why I mentioned it. I believe that the insinuation at the time was that he could have been either helping launder or trying to make sure union problems didn't come up in the future.

So the Mob stiffed armed Trump and made the brilliant businessman pay way over market value?

Yes, just like they made every other developer in NYC overpay for concrete. The Mob ran the concrete business in NYC for decades, don't believe me google it.

Yes. They did and it would be beneficial for any developer to do things that curry favor with them.

Maybe he should have acted like the vice president and withheld money from a country to get them to fire a prosecutor investigating the company his son worked for or something. That seems to be acceptable in some political circles.

I've heard of "But... Obama," but I think this is the first "But... O'Biden" I've seen.

OK, then explain to me how the mafia could have used Trump to launder money.

Ok......there are a few ways he could.

He could take the cash from someone via a large loss that is still under the radar such as 8k at one of his casinos.

He then takes that cash and funnels it back to a business he contracts with and simply goes with a bid that is 8k higher.

He has then effectively taken dirty money and sent it back as clean.

This would have to be tracked by auditing his books and seeing if a certain contractor always bid high and trump signed off where other bids were much lower.

This is just one example.

I highly doubt this is happening but it's a way.

I also hate myself for giving the libs on here ideas and now I need to take a shower.

This investigation sounds like little more than another 'OrAnGE MaN BAd' smear to me.

Even if there's something to it, there's little to no chance it involves the Mob's construction racketeering.

Rudy Giuliani made his career using the RICO Act to successfully prosecute NY's 5 Mob Families for corruption in the construction industry during the mid-80's. The Concrete Club I think they were dubbed. I think 2Million was the mobs magic number. Any contractor placing a bid of 2M or more had to answer to the Mob.

Given Trump's present connection with Giuliani, I find Trump having been complicit with the mob's corruption that Giuliani prosecuted to be a tough sell.

I don't think that mob construction racketeering is going to come up in Scotland even if there is any legitimacy to the investigation. This whole conversation went off the rails when someone asserted there was no way a sitting president would be involved in laundering and I pointed out they were investigating matters prior to the presidency and Trump has dealt with rumors about this kind of stuff before. @Rasputin_Vol decided I need to research every internet rumor about Trump and argue in favor of them so Ras can rebut them.

It is, however, interesting to note that Trump got hooked up with Roy Cohn around the time of the concrete club stuff and Cohn also represented some prominent mafia figures involved in it. Not that it proves Trump did anything wrong.

Merely pointing out the hypocrisy of believing a scandal and completely ignoring others to protect the party .

No one should be above the law or exempt because their party is in power. I could give two sh!ts which letter is next to their name.

News flash, the only scandal was Trump trying to extort Ukraine. The scandal also involved false information used to fuel the conspiracy you just repeated.

Actually someone posted an article about his golf club being investigated for possible money laundering and you want us to give you more information that we don't have. I know you wanted two scoops but you only get one. We don't have to prove "Jack" to you.
And then in return I asked you to explain how $150-400 million of viggorish or skim from Trump would benefit some sinister outfit.

Then I got crickets.
