Trump calls for terminating or at least suspending the Constitution

Trump has never been intelligent, but he's really gone off the rails in recent years and now resides in the land of pure insanity.
He's now simply an embarrassing laughingstock and punchline. Advocating for terminating parts of the Constitution should be an automatic disqualifier but the Cult won't care - they support him unconditionally like good little puppets.

When dems decided what businesses were essential or not and shut the ones down that they deemed non-essential was that not terminating parts of the constitution?

Just be consistent.

Why would you only include Dems in this false equivalency and whataboutism? I hope you realize that plenty of Republican Governors did the same exact thing. The fact that you equate a virus that killed over 1 M Americans and overwhelmed hospitals with an idiot trying to re-instate himself as POTUS because he's a whiny infant are not even remotely the same thing.

Good point so let’s go with any politician that **** down businesses based on what they deemed essential or not. And no it’s not a false equivalency because that was completely unconstitutional.

The CARES Act was largely written by Sheldon Adelson and Steve Wynn's (huge R donors), passed by R Congress, and signed by a R President...

State govts shut stuff found because the Feds subsidized it...

It is a false equivalency of epic proportions - you are comparing a public health emergency with a guy who wants election results tossed out because of leaked e-mails from a private company that has every right to suppress whatever they want.

It's been a few years but I thought the shutdowns were deemed constitutional because the 10th Amendment gives states broad discretion during a public heath emergency to do what they feel is best to mitigate the spread.

Quick question. Related. How do you feel about Biden continuing to extend his Federal Covid emergency powers and using that to try to jam loan forgiveness with it? Seems like a ridiculous abuse of power. Unethical. And something that all sides should shout down

States do have broad discretion and I’m glad you finally see this. What states cannot do is violate the BORs and shuttering businesses they deemed non-essential is a violation of the BORs.

I can't argue with your assessment. It is definitely shady and neither side should be doing it, just like it was shady when Trump declared a national emergency at the border and diverted defense funds to build his wall that Congress had not approved.

I agree
There’s nothing to be learned from that.
Maybe someone will put together an accurate breakdown at some point. Ya know, something with some actual details.

Did you scroll down to the chart that lists what each state did and when?

Didn't several businesses challenge this and lose?

It’s not accurate. TN never shut down bars and restaurants statewide nor had a statewide mask public mandate.

Well, he is running for president.

Remember when you were libertarian and your response to messaging like this would have been condemnation?
I do remember when I was a libertarian before March 2020.

What does that have to do with LG creating yet another trash thread about Trump?

To declare him the winner almost three years ago.

He's the leader of the GOP. You guys own him and you own this latest insanity by him.
Yes, it's more whining and egotistical behavior from Donald Trump. He can't move on to 2024. His ego is still too bruised from his defeat in 2020.

Now, having said that ...

This works just fine for Democrats. Based on the results of the 2022 mid-term elections (aka The Red Trickle), it is fair to say that independent voters in battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona, summarily rejected Trump's hand-picked election deniers and their message.

The American people appear to be tired of hearing about 2020. It only serves to help the Democratic Party that Trump can't move on. We should be happy, that even after two full years, he is still doing this.
