They have the most diversity.Since you felt the need to inject partisanship, see below for your reading pleasure. Can you connect the dots on what most of these states have in common politically?

It's not a coincidence that some of the poorest and most obese states in the country tend to lean Republican
And the government can fix that?
As a sole solution? Absolutely not.
You face a fundamental cultural issue wherein parenting is just **** nowadays. There has to be a happy medium between letting you raise your kids freely while having local or state funded resources at your disposal to prevent you from sucking at it.
Seriously! This piece of s*** human being literally has no limits.
The Trump administration announced Friday that it plans to roll back school lunch regulations that produced healthier meals for students to allow schools "more flexibility" in what they serve “because they know their children best.”
Trump admin. to roll back school lunch regulations on fruits and vegetables
Having resources isnt the issue. You can be a billionaire and a crap parent. You can be broke and a great one. Usually seems like the poor seem to appreciate the kids more.As a sole solution? Absolutely not.

Great. The school lunch represents 180 out of about 1100 meals a year. They could eat dog food for 180 meals , and it wouldn't make any difference. This is nothing. If federal regulations are the difference between good and bad lunch for public school kids, then we might as well light the whole country on fire.
So 10% of the class is physical exercise and the rest is setting in a chair, talking about it... even the sex which would be the most exercise is more about not doing it, or figuring our what you like than getting the exercise from what you like.Weird, we had it when I was a kid in Elementary. And both in middle and high school in Florida, my kids have to take a Florida state mandated class called HOPE (Health Opportunities through Physical Education) that covers:
- Mental/Social Health
- Physical Activity
- Components of Physical Fitness
- Nutrition and Wellness Planning
- Diseases and Disorders
- Health Advocacy
- First Aid/CPR
- Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Prevention
- Human Sexuality including Abstinence and HIV
- Internet Safety
Hog, I guess I'm surprised to see you pass on an opportunity to bitch about how other people do things. The majority of parents must be really good at it.
It ends up in the trash because kids have such little time to actually eat their food.
This is great for firing up the base but really means very little. A real issue to address is how many kids are going hungry at night and on the weekends. Hungry children are worse students

Very true. When we started helping out with the food backpack program at our daughters school I was shocked at how many kids relied on that for their only meals over the weekends.

All the more reason for them to load up on calories at school. Pizza, cheeseburgers, fries, cokes, and ice cream. There are many kids, probably some in your neck of the woods - where a school lunch will be the only meal they eat in a day. It's hard to wrap my head around that, but hunger isn't relegated to the corners of Africa.

We participate in KidsPack as well and it's a great service. Our church also offers free care in the afternoons for community kids to get tutoring and a meal. We volunteer in that occasionally and bring our sons so they experience it too. It can definitely change one's perspectiveVery true.
