Who are the people alleging abuses? There's your answer. You think airing the dirty laundry to the public and the rest of the world is going to change what they may or may not do? Are you personally going to police them? Do you have such constitutional powers? Who else outside of the government is going to police them? I'm honestly interested to know. This is only going to embarrass the country and make our intelligence gathering less effective.
..and their plants in the FBI, CIA, DOJ, etc. So, yeah, the Democratic Party at the root of it.
Wow! Can you say panic mode?
@SaraCarterDC
BREAKING: @FBI Director Christopher Wray and DOJ wants all names redacted from #FISAMemo putting pressure on White House and House Intelligence Committee, Government officials say ... is releasing names a threat to national security?
Are you going to answer my question?
Who said your information is being surveilled? Do you have evidence of this?
Sure I'll answer the ones that are not completely stupid.
Right now some republican congressmen and news media are alleging abuses.
Yes, I think we the people deserve to see the dirty laundry. The only power we have to hold our elected officials accountable is at the ballot box and we damn sure deserve to know if they are holding the federal bureaucracies accountable and in check. Have you ever heard the saying "power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely"?
So it embarrasses us, it's better to be a little embarrassed than to allow those in power to run amok and violate our rights.
The NSA is surveilling all phone calls and emails, they say only overseas contacts, but I believe everything. How else could they pull this information up and track a suspects communication for weeks and years without it? They are saying its not illegal to do so because they only use it when court approved. The problem with that is they can go back a long way and pull information when the probable cause is current. If they used this for a domestic crime, they could get probable cause to review your phone conversations for the last 10 years as evidence to convict you. Evidence is massive ever since the Snowden dump.
So, how will your voting change, once any potential abuses are revealed? I'm just trying to understand how you think the people will be empowered by this. Sounds like most of the folks who are potentially at fault are appointees and not elected officials. Trump has already replaced or is replacing many such folks. If it shows that Obama and his administration played some role, he's already out of office and cannot run again. Any legal action would be undertaken by the Trump DoJ. You're a Republican, I assume, so you weren't going to vote for any democrats anyway. So, again, how does your knowing the details allow you to influence anything?
