So what's the explanation for our actions in Syria in defiance of Russia and Tillerson's comments about them. Donny reneging on the deal?

According to LG its just a cover

Oil prices surging right now, Putin benefits. He's literally unstoppable

From what I've read the Kremlin was notified before Congress was.

What are the extent of the Russian damages?

Seriously? You think we'd do this (any POTUS) without telling Russia first? You think the goal (for any POTUS) would be to cause Russian damages?

Correct. Agent Chaos hasn't gone rogue yet. Plus, this is a nice distraction.

However, I am on the record that it would not surprise me one bit if Trumpov eventually goes rogue, like it is rumored Tito did. A slightly more than cursory review of Trump's business dealings show that the man has no principles or sense of honor and dignity. He will throw you under the bus, if necessary. Putin has already given Trumpov his biggest prizes; Trumpov may eventually decide he owes Putin nothing and end up becoming Putin's biggest nightmare.

Whether or not that ends up happening, the Kremlin undoubtedly scored a big win just by the sheer chaos created by the election interference and by Agent Do You Miss Hillary Yet?, a true failure of the art of the deal.

I will never miss Hillary.

His point is that Russia wasn't really affected by the strike.

Sure, some Kremlin officials will go to the press and whine. State media will probably talk about how Trumpsky is a "Neo-con," but, at the end of the day, the Kremlin can live with this.

No big deal.

I was actually expecting something more grand and spectacular from you.

Regarding the actual strike, it is what Obama should have done years ago before Russia entered the picture. It would have been an excellent decision on his part. But, of course, Obama was incompetent on foreign policy and too much of a sissy.

Now, however, it was not a wise decision. The reason why is that Assad-Russia-Iran now possess escalation dominance. What happens when Assad does it again? What happens in the event some Russians are accidentally killed?

I think it was an unwise decision now that would have been a wise one about 3 to 4 years ago.

That would be Putin's fault wouldn't it. Donny would surely ask his permission before launching another strike.

Telling the Russians before telling our own people.

I don't know the logistics of everything--yes, a last-minute warning is in order to minimize casualties--but apparently they had enough time for them (and the Syrians) to move stuff from danger.

If you want a strike that "hurts", this isn't how you do it.

Agree it would have been more effective in 2013.

As for now, I don't know how wise or unwise it will be until I see if there is a followup program. If there isn't (which I suspect) it's largely symbolic.

This was a message not a kill shot. Not telling the Russians would be a good way to start WWIII.

When you think the level of "dumb" in this thread has reached its limit, people are actually under the impression that Trump must be a Russian stooge, unless he starts a nuclear winter with them.

Reading is hard work.

I said they told the Russians before they told Congress, or even the full NSC staff (apparently).

Grandpa Trump saw something he didn't like on TV, so in a few hours they threw together a response to send a message, and "Bombs Away!"

Actually this target had been identified and the strike plan was developed in 2013. Wasn't just thrown together.

The POTUS has full authority to launch this strike so it makes no difference whether he informed congress or not. He probably didn't want members of congress in front of the TV cameras before the first missile launched.

You'd ***** no matter what he did.

VolProf and Velo, you guys keep the Trump Putin conspiracy fire burning. This is better than any sitcom.

I'm trying to warn you ahead of time, though. There is not going to be any nefarious doings found.
