Telling the Russians before telling our own people.
I don't know the logistics of everything--yes, a last-minute warning is in order to minimize casualties--but apparently they had enough time for them (and the Syrians) to move stuff from danger.
If you want a strike that "hurts", this isn't how you do it.
VolProf and Velo, you guys keep the Trump Putin conspiracy fire burning. This is better than any sitcom.
I'm trying to warn you ahead of time, though. There is not going to be any nefarious doings found.
An incredible set of coincidences exist.
9 Russians related to said set of coincidences are now dead. Maybe a 10th (Russian senator this week), but that is unknown as of yet.
Trump never says an ill word of Putin. May give a casual accusation against Russia every now and then, but never Putin.
The FBI, in a measure without any precedent, is investigating the current president and his campaign team for collusion with a hostile foreign power in interfering with our election process.
The former House Intel chairman, a member of the transition team, is now out on his can, under an Ethics probe. Possibly even an FBI investigation as well.
Tell me again how this isn't going to turn up a single bit of anything.
The POTUS has full authority to launch this strike so it makes no difference whether he informed congress or not.
A strike that destroyed several military aircraft, penetrated and burned out their reinforced hangars, approach roads and runways, and other airport infrastructure of the location sarin gas attacks have originated DAMN SURE sends a message. Yes it does.
Oh? Under what statute?
The War Powers Resolution requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30-day withdrawal period, without a Congressional authorization for use of military force (AUMF) or a declaration of war by the United States. The resolution was passed by two-thirds of Congress, overriding a presidential veto.
His point is that Russia wasn't really affected by the strike.
Sure, some Kremlin officials will go to the press and whine. State media will probably talk about how Trumpsky is a "Neo-con," but, at the end of the day, the Kremlin can live with this.
No big deal.
VP's girl, Louise Mensch, says the Russians funded the riots in Ferguson

There you go, dredging up this "most irresponsible" thread again, just to keep Trump-Russia fake news at the top of this forum's page.
Everyone knows that Trump-Russia is over. Done. We're at war with Russia and Syria now.
You TrumPutingaters have no respect for patriotic Americans like Donny J. Trump.
Speaking of Trump-Russia, more fake news:

You probably need to go back and check the rules. The vote total has no more effect on winner versus loser than who had the most hair.Funny how alt right folks are willing to accept 20 steps of irrational linkage to conclude that a range of Dem politicians are engaged in child sex trafficking out of the basement of a pizza joint, but dismiss the facts right in front of them demonstrating that there was, at a minimum, a nice familiar relationship with the Russians whereby a guy they know next to nothing about has become president despite losing by 3 million votes.
