I got to the interview phase of my AF officer candidacy (had also just initiated with Army) when I was finally denied on medical.
The week before, I had a heart-to-heart with my recruiter about what I had been hiding. I was so desiring to serve, I was actually going to lie initially on my medical forms, as my first recruiter had told me to do. Kind of like how my grandfather lied about his age to join WWII.
But, after learning more about security clearances, which I was surely bound for, I realized I would never make it, so I came forward and that was that. Broke my heart.
Still have a few applications out with some military "alternatives" though, but I won't go into the specifics.
You know we don't agree on much, but for what it's worth, I'd be less concerned about the possibility of you having a security clearance than Dim politicians (probably politicians in general really) - and especially the Clintons.
