The Iran deal was a good thing--it is a serious brake on their nuclear bomb ambitions and, until Trump got elected, held the potential to substantially improve relations between the two countries. The $400 billion or whatever the number was Iran's money; it had been frozen by the U.S. government.
Some/many conservatives have a bug up their butt about Iran in the same way that the neocons in the Bush administration were dead set on getting rid of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Israel's U.S. lobby is pushing the anti-Iran agenda much as it pushed Bush and his men to invade Iraq. Israel had pushed the U.S. to get rid of Saddam for many years. The 9-11 attack gave Cheney and Bush and the neocons the opportunity they needed to lie and bully everybody into supporting an invasion of Iraq--even though Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction--it was a paper tiger--and had nothing to do with 9-11. Israel pushed the idea, just as it is pushing a hard-line with Iran. Russian hacks us in multiply ways, interferes with our election--but the Trumpster want to be pals with Russian and take a hard line with Iran. Stupid. Israel wants us to do all their dirty work.
Meanwhile, Trump's new communications director earlier this year talked to Russian state TV and, like his new boss, spent several minutes spouting an embarrassing amount of pro-Russia BS. He must have graduated from the D. Trump School of Talking Out of Your A$$. He says Trump has "enormous respect" for the "legacy of the U.S.-Russian relationship. Comical. What legacy might he be referring to? We've been enemies for more than 60 years!
Trump is just determined to get hold of more of that dirty money from Russian oligarchs to further grow his business. We've got a president who has been compromised by Russia. Think about it. A real Manchurian candidate. You disagree? Then explain why Trump has been jumping through hoops to say and do nice things for Russian for many months? He's like a giddy schoolgirl around Putin. Putin control the people who have invested a lot of ill-gotten money into Trump properties. I'm pretty sure that Trump's great and mysterious affection for Putin and Russia isn't the product of, say, Trump's extensive reading on Russian history or the history of Russia-U.S. relations. Trump doesn't read. He simply can't afford to disappoint his Sugar Daddy.
