Bill Browder's testimony to the Senate committee regarding Russia.

Bill Browder - Wikipedia

Bill Browder was born into a notable Jewish family in Chicago, Illinois. His grandfather was Earl Browder, the former leader of the Communist Party USA, who ran for president in 1936 and 1940.

Browder and Edmond Safra (1932– 1999) founded Hermitage Capital Management in 1996 for the purpose of investing initial seed capital of $25 million in Russia while the mass privatization after the fall of the Soviet Union. The business was very successful, profiting from the wave of privatizations occurring in Russia at that time, and increased its investor base substantially. He stated: “The fund went up eight hundred percent in the next eighteen months”.

In 2006, after ten years doing business in the country, Browder was blacklisted by the Russian government as a "threat to national security" and denied entry to the country. The Economist wrote that the Russian government blacklisted Browder because he interfered with the flow of money to "corrupt bureaucrats and their businessmen accomplices". Browder had been a supporter of Russian president Vladimir Putin before, though.

So this grandson of a Commie ran into Russia in the 1990's to pick over the bones leftover by the fall of the Soviet Union and then became an enemy of the state a decade later. This is the testimony that is supposed to prove Russian interference in the election? This guy is an enemy to both Russia and the US.

Great read on the symmetry of the Mueller and Starr investigations.

Just a part:
We are coming up now on the 19th anniversary of Clinton's big grand jury testimony, the first given by a sitting president into an inquiry focused on his own behavior. Nixon took his turn after leaving office. Clinton answered the Starr team's questions from the White House, his image and voice beamed out over closed-circuit television.
Given Trump's predicament, the subject matter that day underlines a certain ironic twist. Starr began his inquiry because of a controversy surrounding Clinton's finances and Whitewater investments. He ended up elbows deep in graphic inquiries about the President's sex life. Mueller, by contrast, was hired to probe the Trump campaign and Russia, and the potential for collusion or other kinds of skullduggery, but he could now feasibly get bogged down in Trump's financial transactions.

All this means is:

"We don't really have anything, but if you look at a person's finances long enough you are sure to find something."

I don't think the testimony proves collusion, it just gives insight into the rampant corruption in Russia. And I'm not going to hold it against the dude because his grandfather was a communist.

I have a hard time believing that Trump would be willing to give a deposition. He'd fight that tooth and nail.

What he would be willing to do is be interviewed by tweet. Mueller could post a question. Trump would go potty and post a response. Each one would end with Trump saying "What about Clinton emails?" Followed by "Sad!"

It would be hilarious.

Haven't you given up trying to figure Trump out? Each and every "prediction" you make in regards to him just doesn't pan out.

When are you going to figure out he's just not predictable?

So he would do exactly what Clinton did?

President Trump has sent private messages to Russia special counsel Robert Mueller

WASHINGTON – President Trump has publicly called the widening federal investigation into Russia's election meddling a "witch hunt." But through his lawyer, Trump has sent private messages of "appreciation" to special counsel Robert Mueller.

"He appreciates what Bob Mueller is doing,'' Trump's chief counsel John Dowd told USA TODAY in an interview Tuesday. "He asked me to share that with him and that's what I've done.''

Trump's legal team has been in contact with Mueller's office, and Dowd says he has passed along the president's messages expressing “appreciation and greetings’’ to the special counsel.

“The president has sent messages back and forth,’’ Dowd said, declining to elaborate further.

Trump says Mueller is on a witch hunt. Implies he might fire him.

And sends messages of appreciation to him in the meantime.

Trump is so phony. Did the same thing to Comey. Tries to be his buddy. But then bashes him. Same thing with Mexican President. Mexico won't pay for a wall, but don't tell anyone because it makes me look bad.

So pathetic, this weak ingratiating behavior. Just more douchebaggery from Trump.

So what you're saying is "this is justified because they did it too!"

At least you're finally admitting it's a witch hunt

It sounds like you're admitting the B. Clinton investigation was a witch hunt.

Trump's financial dealings with Russia are much more closely tied to the "collusion" investigation than Clinton's sexcapades were tied to Whitewater. Even you must admit that. If Clinton was victim of a which hunt, then I would say Trump is victim of maybe a "black cat" hunt.

If the Leftist Coup is successful, and President Trump is removed from office, what happens next?

3 day party. Renewal of faith in the American way and the dignity of the office of the president. Renewed respect in and trust of America in the eyes of our friends and allies. Boring late night TV. Rebirth of science and truth.

If the Leftist Coup is successful against President Trump, it will be nothing like the Coup that removed President Nixon from office.

There will be hell to pay. The Leftist better prepare themselves for Unintended Consequences.

Exactly what I'm thinking. It will get ugly fast.
