Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis wants to put a time limit on special counsel Robert Mueller's wide-ranging investigation into the Trump's campaign ties to Russia.

The conservative Republican filed legislation that would prevent funding for the probe beyond 180 days after the measure passes Congress.

DeSantis' measure was filed as an amendment to a spending bill the House is expected to begin weighing as early as next week in order to keep the federal government open beyond the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30

The amendment won't make it into the bill.

There's already a time limit on it. It's called a statute of limitations.

Just what is "It"?

This? that? what?

Pay Attention please.

"It" is the investigation. "It" obviously would have to be completed before the statute of limitations runs out on any crime related to "it".

Therefore there is no need for a law with an arbitrary date for finishing "it".

After weeks of discussions, Trump Jr. has agreed on a date to be interviewed by the panel in private, according to Taylor Foy, spokesman for committee Chairman Chuck Grassley. Trump Jr. will be interviewed by senior committee staff, and senators will be invited to attend, Foy said.
After the Senate judiciary committee invited him to attend a July hearing to testify in public, Trump Jr. instead cut a deal with the committee to avoid the open session. It's unclear if he will eventually testify publicly.

Grassley will get to the bottom of this.:thud:

So let's just keep pissing away millions of dollars until the 2020 elections, that's the pace they are on. The investigation has been going for OVER A YEAR, time to put up or shut up!

I don't recall you complaining about the time and cost of multiple Hillary investigations. I believe four separate ones by the House alone.

Are you going to play fiscal conservative now? Let's talk about golf cart rentals and vacations at Trump properties. The 2020 pace is just fine considering he will pardon anyone and everyone associated with this if he was still in office. Even if they are guilty as hell he would pardon just to spite.

SIAP

http://www.thedailybeast.com/how-dc-lobbyists-helped-paul-manafort-prop-up-a-putin-puppet

Taking a Putin ally to meet political heavyweights on Capitol Hill. Using other pals of Vlad to “prove” to the world that a suspect election was totally kosher. Working side-by-side with Paul Manafort, the famously dictator-friendly operative who once sat atop Donald Trump’s political campaign.
Those are just some of the moves that two of Washington’s most powerful lobbying firms made on behalf of a pro-Putin political party. For years, those efforts went largely ignored—just another instance of influence-peddling in a Washington full of it. But now, they’re being dragged into the light by Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia probe.

According to NBC and The Washington Post, Mueller has subpoenaed at least two Washington lobbying firms—the Podesta Group and Mercury LLC—regarding work they did with one-time Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort that was paid for by Putin allies.

The Podesta Group is helmed by Tony Podesta, whose brother, John Podesta, was the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. The Podestas have long been some of the Clintons’ closest allies and confidants. And they’ve used their access to one of Washington’s formerly powerful dynasties to build a lobbying empire. The Podesta Group is famous for connecting foreign government clients with D.C. insiders—including clients with abysmal human rights records. The firm represented Vietnam’s repressive government, as well as that of Azerbaijan and South Sudan.

Interesting.

Two different animals, I did complain about the email investigation conducted by the house. That should have been turned over to a prosecutor and the house should have gotten out of it, nothing more than political grandstanding when a clear crime had been committed.

Benghazi, was another totally different animal. That was a complete failure of policy and needed to be investigated by congress.

A clear crime was committed? What was the House Committees findings? Oh yeah, no crime was committed.

But the point you seem to be making is it's ok to spend money and time investigating Hillary but not Trump.

Trumps Mar a Lago vacations cost U.S. taxpayers about $3,000,000 per trip (not including the expenses WPB has to absorb for Police OT.) He's made seven there alone, many more to other Trump properties and others.

If his investigation costs a couple million, it may be a bargain if it keeps him home from just one of his trips.

I have looked for information on just how much Mueller's team is making without success. I know they're not going to be cheap. Anyone know?

Mishandling of classified information. Hell even that idiot Comey admitted as much.
