TrumPutinGate

I have looked for information on just how much Mueller's team is making without success. I know they're not going to be cheap. Anyone know?

"Justice Department's Assistant Attorney General for Administration Lee Lofthus. Lofthus says there is no real limit, and Mueller will get any funds he deems necessary, subject to the approval of the deputy attorney general."

Mueller and his team of 16 investigators and prosecutors are either already on staff at the FBI and DOJ or left multi million dollar jobs to join the Special Counsel's office.

the piece I posted is a good demonstration of why this is a witch hunt - lobbying firms have been doing this stuff for years (the stuff Manafort is in hot water for). no one cared until there was a potential political win in it.

the Podesta group is a sleazy outfit and there are many links from the Clinton campaign to the exact some stuff.

This is a narrative planted to explain an election loss and to disrupt an elected administration. Any convictions will be on tertiary aspects at best to the "COLLUSION" angle.

But by all means, carry on.

They will spend millions and end up with some tax related charge against a minor player in the campaign. Sad part here is there are people who will call that a win.

Manafort is the only one with direct ties to the FSB along with his name showing up in a ledger with payouts coming from Russia and Pro-Russian Parties.

If that was the case there wouldn't be both a Counterintelligence investigation and a foreign finance investigation going on.

WASHINGTON, DC – President Donald Trump refrained from calling Russia a security threat during a press conference Monday and said he hopes to have “good relations” with the country.

“I hope that we do have good relations with Russia. I say it loud and clear, I have been saying it for years. I think it’s a good thing if we have great relationships, or at least good relationships, with Russia,” he said at a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto.

Manafort is the only one with direct ties to the FSB along with his name showing up in a ledger with payouts coming from Russia and Pro-Russian Parties.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has issued subpoenas to a former lawyer for Paul Manafort and to Manafort's current spokesman, an aggressive tactic that suggests an effort to add pressure on the former Trump campaign chairman.
The subpoenas seeking documents and testimony were sent to Melissa Laurenza, an attorney with the Akin Gump law firm who until recently represented Manafort, and to Jason Maloni, who is Manafort's spokesman, according to people familiar with the matter.

The counter-intelligence investigation is because Russia tried to interfere or interfered (semantics) in the election.

The narrative was pushed by the last administration that said interference was coordinated with Team Trump and hence the political feeding frenzy.

I've never said Manafort wasn't guilty. The article (and the reason for the subpoena) demonstrates that he was assisted in what he was paid for by well known DC lobby groups.

Will be interesting to see how the Podesta Group was paid and by whom for said assistance.

Manafort's bad behavior vis a vis the Ukraine and Russian intereference in collusion with Team Trump are not the same thing.

at this point they or going to take anything they can get, paint it white, slap a horn on its head and call it the unicorn they have been looking for the whole time.

A clear crime was committed? What was the House Committees findings? Oh yeah, no crime was committed.

But the point you seem to be making is it's ok to spend money and time investigating Hillary but not Trump.

Really? Answer these simple questions, were there any classified materials sent by her private email server? Did she return all work related emails, per a federal court order, to the State Department?

I am personally fine with Trump being investigated. It just seems like nothing of real substance is coming up. With Clinton, there was actual clear evidence of her lying and shenanigans. All we have on Trump is ifs and buts.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team is working with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on its investigation into Paul Manafort and his financial transactions, according to several people familiar with the matter.

The cooperation is the latest indication that the federal probe into President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman is intensifying. It also could potentially provide Mueller with additional leverage to get Manafort to cooperate in the larger investigation into Trump’s campaign, as Trump does not have pardon power over state crimes.

LOL...fake news. Several posters here hung onto every word Louise and Claude published and ran with it as the gospel.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-journa...o-spreading-criminal-lies-about-donald-trump/

Primarily through Twitter and the website Patribotics, Mensch and Taylor — who describe themselves as co-writers — have become high-profile foot soldiers in the national media’s relentless war against Trump, primarily through a number of wild criminal allegations both have publicly made against the 45th president. There is just one problem: both were reportedly conned by a hoaxer pretending to be a source within New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office.

The source’s false tips included an allegation, which has been aggressively circulated by Mensch and Taylor, that Trump’s inactive fashion model agency is under investigation by New York authorities for possible sex trafficking.

The hoaxer, who fed the information to Taylor by email, said she acted out of frustration over the “dissemination of fake news” by Taylor and Mensch. Their false stories about Trump have included a claim that he was already being replaced as president by Senator Orrin Hatch in a process kept secret from the American public.

“Taylor asked no questions to verify my identity, did no vetting whatsoever, sought no confirmation from a second source – but instead asked leading questions to support his various theories, asking me to verify them,” the source said in an email.

It is also worth mentioning that just a few months ago this very same Guardian gushed over Mensch’s awesome journalism skills.

For his part, Taylor has apologized for spreading the false claims.

Yes, I remember well when Hatch was being "prepped" for presidential duty.
