TrumPutinGate

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Thousands of fake accounts created for the purpose of swaying voters to Trump. Considering the amount of misinformation Trump supporters digested as truth, I would say it was more than enough to turn the election in Trump's favor. A misinformed public was the foundation of the trump victory, and Russia played a significant role in laying that foundation.

A misinformed public has been the foundation of both parties.

Clinton had no message , it's a simple as that and Obama was a ****ing epic disaster for eight ****ing years, what don't you get Cletus ?

We will never agree. We look at exactly the same thing and see completely different images. I've come to terms with that fact; however, I still find it fascinating.

What's funny in this thread is how people believe only anti-Clinton Facebook ads existed and only people who voted for Trump were "misinformed".

I imagine if anyone bothered to throw an army of resources at it we'd find that other foreign countries have "their fingerprints" on ads that were anti-Trump or anti-Bernie or anti-whoever.

It's not that Russia didn't attempt to monkey with the election - it's the implication that they were the only ones and somehow it was unique to this election.

The use of **** certainly helps drive home your point. Trump won due to ****ing ignorance, ****ing fear, and ****ing insecurity. I felt like a ****ing idiot typing **** so many times, but walking in another man's shoes can be enlightening.

Wow, if only the electorate hadn't been so easily duped, we could have had another Clinton.

You should try walking in another man's shoes, and reading the above. You folks lost because you think the rest of us are dumbasses. The view from your high horse is obscured by the clouds.

I would love to have a complete investigation into the use of facebook and other social media during the election. Proving the fact that the right was much more active in disseminating misinformation and fake news and that trump voters were far more effected by propaganda would be a great step forward.

Hilary represented a continuation of Obama policies, if you can't understand the rejection of an ideology than there's no helping you. Trump is a direct result of the eight years of failure of Barack Hussein Obama..

That is 100% true, but there is more to it than that. Trump was nominated specifically as a direct result of the weak, gutless Republican establishment House and Senate, and other Republican nominees.

He was basically the first 3rd party candidate, running as a member of one of the two established parties. He ran against both parties, and they made it very transparent to see that they were both against him.

There is where you are making your mistake. It wasn't only the Trump voters effected by misinformation. Hell, misinformation won Hillary the nomination.

We've been down this road a number of times now. Do you and '69 and the rest of your "ilk" hold the intellect of leftist Clinton supporters in high regard? Many on here constantly refer to Clinton supporters as ignorant, lazy sheep. You bemoan the left's view of trump supporters yet never say a word about trump supporters' view of the left. Interesting.

CNN says Russians bought $100k in ads on Facebook. Compare that to campaign spending of close to $1B and Facebook ad revenue of ~$30B. How can anyone look at that in context and say that had the potential to materially affected anything.

I know that there are ignorant voters on both sides. The vast majority on either side are not ignorant. They have a different view of things......period.

Not to mention... If one of the major parties were to have people influenced by social media, they think it's republican voters? Lol

so whats the line? what level is acceptable? You have both candidates slinging and making up mud at each other already. Is it a country line? Like no Russia but the UK is fine? Iran, NK, China, Saudi Arabia?

speaking personally even though I run more conservative than otherwise my FB feed was constantly filled with stuff aligned with the left's message. probably because of my demographic, millennial living in a city working in the design field. most of what I saw were op-eds that both sides were taking as fact. where is the line? because your whole message has been the disinformation only matters when it comes from the right.

you have to admit Hilary also ran on a ballot of fear (deportation, death by removal of ACA, racist, nazi, misogynist), ignorance (never explained her side, deplorables) and fake news (CNN collusion)

You want an investigation to prove something you've already convinced yourself is a fact?

Time for some self-reflection

Zuckerberg will stoop to any level for money. He wants to run in 2020.

Same experience - I saw mountains of misinformation and just plain ridiculousness posted by my left leaning friends and treated as absolute truth.

The place was flooded with crap and $100K worth from "the Russians" was a blip.
