TrumPutinGate

You do digress.....I was simply stating how Trump misinterprets his beloved electoral college map, which was the question asked.

Yes I got that but I have ADHD and got to thinking about mandates and why some people......not you. I don’t know if you think it means anything......seem to think it is important.

I realize that now and edited my post. A little ADHD myself.

Simpson told the committee in closed-door testimony made public on Tuesday that no one had encouraged him and he did not seek anyone's approval when ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier, went to the FBI in July 2016.
"Chris said he was very concerned about whether this represented a national security threat and said he wanted to -- he said he thought we were obligated to tell someone in government, in our government about this information," Simpson said. "He thought from his perspective there was an issue -- a security issue about whether a presidential candidate was being blackmailed."
Simpson also testified that Steele told him the FBI had similar intelligence from "an internal Trump campaign source" and that the FBI "believed Chris' information might be credible because they had other intelligence that indicated the same thing and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human source from inside the Trump organization."

Simpson: Steele feared Trump was being blackmailed - CNNPolitics

If this is true, it could be pretty significant. Someone inside the Trump campaign corroborating Russian blackmail of Trump...

Then Trump should refuse to talk to Muller.

I think that is what this whole effort to discredit the investigation has been about -- to create a grounds to reject any conclusion and to try to de facto limit the areas of inquiry.

These things get broader naturally. Recall, Clinton was originally about Whitewater and became about Lewinsky.

If Trump insists on restricting the subject matter of the interview, I suspect we will have a constitutional crisis because he cannot do that and the Congress would be obliged to weigh in on it and the courts definitely would.

Plus it would make him look guilty as sin.

dear lord, if Mueller is still fishing at this point its getting laughable.

He wouldn't be much, at all. He knows the 99.99 % of the answers. He is going to see if Trump will lie about them.

That's what got Clinton, in the end. Though the issue here would be slightly different in that the issue is lying not in a presser (Trump has definitely done that) but would he lie to the special prosecutor and the DOJ?

Alan Dershowitz pulverizes liberal anti-Trump Russia theories — and nearly leaves Carlson speechless – TheBlaze

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz:

..."President Donald Trump committed "no crime" in alleged Trump-Russia collusion.

Democrats and liberals, such as Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), believe the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special prosector to investigate the theory of Trump-Russia collusion is the first step in President Donald Trump’s eventual impeachment.

But Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz explained that even if Democratic theories about Trump and Russia are true — that Trump’s presidential campaign colluded with Russia last year to undermine Hillary Clinton’s campaign and bolster Trump’s chances at winning the White House — it amounts only to “political wrongdoing.

Nobody can point me to a statute that would be violated [by the Trump-Russia collusion],” Dershowitz said. “And a prosecutor is only allowed to look for evidence of a federal crime.”

I have seen the federal statute which prohibits political campaigns from accepting anything of value from foreign sources. The kind of information and activity attributed to Russia certainly did have value.

Clinton lied to a grand jury.

If Trump were your client I'm sure you would advise him to NOT talk to Muller. I'm also sure you would do everything possible to restrict the interview, if you didn't you would be remiss in your duties. Trump has nothing to gain by agreeing to an under oath interview.

Yeah, what information was received?

Yeah, what information was received?

That is a good question, because junior stated in an email that he was definitely interested in receiving info from the Russians if it was as represented. So he appeared to be combining and conspiring to violate a federal election statute. Mueller has evidence of intent. Junior later said they met to discuss adoption of Russian orphans, and he received no information of value to the campaign. Bottom line for our discussion is that probable cause does exist for the investigation into reasonably suspected violations of federal law. jmho

Mueller is fishing alright, and the bloated white whale is about to roll right up next to him. That he wants to interview Trump should scare the living crap out of everyone in his orbit. If there weren't blood in the water, Mueller wouldn't risk the potential political damage otherwise.

If the investigation revolves around Trump he would be an idiot not to interview Trump. It proves nothing other than he can follow a field manual.

Desperation is a stinky cologne.
